Not trying to make excuses for Monk but he lost these three from the team

Fletch and Fox our most consistent players this season.

Think we need to resist another flipping meltdown guys.

Signs are it will come good.

I would love to know what these signs are that it will come good

we seem to be getting worse with each passing week

if anything it shows how one dimensional monk is if he relies on fletcher to be fit every week

All very good players to lose.

Earlier this season, I commented that Monk could get a tune out of a hosepipe, I was impressed with him.

I stated improvements in Fox and Palmer were down to Monk.

But as Owlstastic says in another thread, maybe he is just troubled, maybe he is about to do a Phillip Schofield lol

That could explain everything.

I agree.

I refuse to go from thinking he is an excellent manager to wanting him sacked in the space of 6 weeks.

Especially when these key injuries have had a massive impact.

I know football is fickle but that would be fecking ridiculous.

Same old Owlstalk.

Expectations have been shot up massively since Chansiri came, for al the reasons we've been over countless times on this forum already.

Unfortunately, a lot of our fanbase can't seem to handle the fact that we arent as good as those expectations want us to be. We were falsely 3rd 6 weeks ago. We have a squad good enough for the top 8, sneak a top 6 place maybe, but generally somewhere between 7th and 12th is our level.

They don't know what to do, so they just meltdown.

I wouldn't worry yourself too much with them @Beholder

That's completely fair. But for those of us who never thought he was a good manager in the first place it's harder to remain optimistic

All teams get injuries, unless you are very lucky.

A good manager is one that can compensate for absent players and still get results.

For example, Blackburn Rovers have recently lost their best player, Bradley Dack for the rest of the season.  That didn’t stop them coming to Hillsborough and routing us 5-0 at our own ground.

Our squad obviously isn’t the finished article.  And we were never going to be a top 2 side this season.

But we’ve got a nucleus of decent players.  And an incompetent manager failing to get the best from them.

We built our team around Fletch and we're garbage without him, it's as simple as that really.

Love the way everyone is an expert on what it takes to be a good manager.

We've no idea of the parameters he's been given. Or what goes on behind closed doors.

He's not been able to bring in his own staff which makes a huge difference when trying to get new methods across.

Bruce had his Steve's

Carlos had his sidekick

Jo's his his staff in his tash.

It must be difficult coming in alone especially when you are used to having your own team with you.

I was hoping we’d see more of Luongo - looks like someone that with regular games would help out quite a bit.

Three grafters. We have a bunch of “fancy dans” at the min. We have a distinct lack of horrible [email protected] that we need. Such a push over team that has no fight.

Has some really started a thread to defend monk because Morgan fox and Massimo luongo weren't available?

Luongo has barely played because pretty much like every other player weve signed is a crock and cant stay fit.

Fox is okay and has improved massively but he is still miles off a top end championship full back.

Some fans are so easily pleased.

Losing Fletcher has been our downfall

We haven’t played well since he got the sh*ts and did his knee. Hopefully Wickham can step up

Rumours are that his staff won’t come as Monk only has a contract till June, and his staff are still sat on 3 year deals at Birmingham

I can understand that if true.

Maybe Monk only asked for a one year deal because of the whole fookwittery at the club.

Maybe Chansiri is non committal and won't give anything longer than one year.

Either way we can't move forward.

And yet our fans are paying more than some Premiership clubs and have been asked to back the club numerous times on our push for promotion.

With the money our fans are paying I think there should be a degree of expectation.
