With Fletcher we were 3rd and flying. I don't get everyone saying get rid. The guy is in amazing shape and been a game changer this season. Why pay him less if he can to do the business, just have a shorter contract.

I agree in part, but we have to move to a more sustainable wage structure.

Fletchers been superb this season, but let's not forget the previous couple of years have not been so productive.

Winnall.... based on which performances over the course of this season??

I would keep Winnall also.

There is just something about him that thinks he will score goals given the right service

personally I don’t think he’s good enough, whether he be playing for a contract or not.
Yes he would be ok as a squad player but I wouldn’t sign players on that basis.

Its a wasted argument anyway as he’s near enough got a new deal by the sounds of it

I just feel we’ve been down this road time after time and we never learn

He has been one of our better players all season.
nothing to do with “playing for a contract”. Big difference is he has got himself fit and has had a run in the team. We need more players with his attitude.

Good attitude = one of our better players

Happy for them all to go. Fox possibly as long as we are keeping him as backup and not as an intended starter.

Other than that hard to make a case for any of them.

Fletch would have to take a wage cut to something that is far more sensible for our situation. I'd offer him a one year deal. He either takes it or leaves it. Costs nowt to offer it, but whether or not he takes it is another matter. He won't make a full season injury wise so you have to factor that in. He might look at one last pay day elsewhere if offered it abroad somewhere.

Fox a no brainer. Never thought I'd say that about him. The rest can go. Would love to be able to shift Rhodes out though. Never thought I'd say that either. lol

We have to be ruthless

We are still carrying players from previous failures. we simply cannot carry on rewarding these players

Fletcher, although has had a reasonable season, he simply is not reliable enough to play 35 games + a season. Add to that he will be one of the top earners

This chance has to be taken to get rid of some of the old guard and bring in 7 or 8 new players who can make the difference. We also need to start to make better use of the loan market for 3 or 4 or these new players

No real evidence to back up that though,... can't win headers, can't hold the ball up and bring others into play and no pace

Maybe he had this before his injury, unfortunately I think he has lost it

Dawson - signed

Fox - 2 years

Fletcher - 1 year,  if his agent asks for 2 then thank him for his services.

The rest can go now, a rebuild is needed.

Transfer list

Reach

Rhodes

I think the comments about reduced wages are very relevant. I thought when Bruce came we had at last a manager who knows value and the going rate in the championship. I believe a Monk is of that same trait and we will see a much more realistic wage bill in the future.

Commenting in who should stay I think I agree with most who think in out current situation Fox  and Fletcher, after that it’s who can we bring in

Rhodes definitely has another year left after this.

Given Dawson as signed a new contract, Fox is the only other one I would consider.

With some of those out of contract this summer is a real opportunity to give the squad a much needed refresh - we need to take it.

That's what I thought ref: Rhodes.

Nope that was another point. He has been very good all round. Like I said he has been one of our best performers this season.

That goal he got at qpr is enough for me to keep him.

Pure quality finish.

Fletcher will still have plenty of clubs that will sign him. If we offer him reduced terms, he’ll probably leave.

Even with the football he’s missed there’s still only 6 men currently that have scored more goals than him in the championship this season.

I can’t see there being many championship clubs queueing up for the rest

Dawson who I believe has already signed, everyone else can go.

Including Rhodes who I would let go on a free if possible.

Imagine that.

Club record signing. Reason we are hamstrung with P&S. Release on a free transfer! Sums up how our transfer business has been for as long as I remember!

I’d be delighted if we could release him on a free but I think we’re saddled with his wages until June 2021
