Hack-Abusi
Reach has a lot to offer when played in three tight position .. which is as a wideman
Mr. Tom
57 minutes ago, BarnsleyOwl96 said: Sick and tired of him being used as an attacking mid / Second striker , he literally has no input on the game in that position. He doesn’t have the ability to play centrally , poor touch , not cute with his dribbling in tight areas etc . Look at the attacking mids in the prem (grealish, Maddison, mount ) even Hernandez, benhrama in this league . All quick footed and can move quickly and play intricate passes . If Reach plays he should be left mid only where he can get down the line and get balls in Worked hard today but was so obviously a square peg in a round hole. The one time we used him for anything suitable was that break down the flank where he got dragged wide to pick up a loose clearance. Get him on the flank and make him stay there ffs. McRightSide
I think the one thing the everyone agrees on is that Reach is our best crosser of the ball, and should be played on the left. So what does Monk do?

torres
Reach is far too happy not to be involved. Yes he runs about and yes he tries his best but he doesn’t show the courage or confidence to get on the ball and affect the game Both FF and to some extent the new lad wanted the ball at every possible occasion Reach won’t let you down in terms of mistakes, but he doesn’t do enough to have the chance to make a mistake
PriceAPP
He’s been well below par since Bruce arrived. Which coincided with the rest of the team playing better. He was at his best when the team were rubbish last year. What does this say about him? He was loving it big time when the rest of the squad looked like tvvats Edited February 1, 2020 by PriceAPP Spelling

We laughed when he got booked for a 'physical' challenge. Never in danger of getting a red though, with only doing 3 tackles a season, he's used them all up now.
Blatter
He’s not a striker He’s not a central midfielder. He should play on the left flank if he plays at all. There he has competition from Harris and now Forestieri. If he doesn’t come up with the goods there he’ll be replaced by one of them. Time to make that clear to him now. Think he’s got 16 games to prove his worth.

Everyone knows the most important thing for a winger is that they are good at tackling.

What I find hard to believe is why people would want him to leave. If we had his effort & output on the other wing we’d be fine despite him playing below par this season. Out of interest who’s got on end of those assists? maybe he would have more if there was a more ruthless or clinical option on the end of them I know winnall took his beauty of a cross last week well

i used to be sc_owl
Convinced that managers often overthink things. He’s a winger. It’s that simple. Edited February 1, 2020 by i used to be sc_owl

mattitheowl
Reach was the best player on the pitch yesterday. It doesn't suit him playing as a 10, he needs to be out wide. He's got vision that nobody else in the team (apart from maybe Bannan) has. Harris is direct but his end product isn't consistent enough. Reach has been involved in most of our recent goals. He does nesh out of tackles but to hold that up as a major weakness of a winger is nonsense. Just not bothered...

oldishowl
Monk knows he is best on the left. He has played him there last few games. Yesterday was needs must, either him or Murphy to play that role, Guess Monk thought he would get more work out of Reach than Murphy. It ain’t his position, but I have seen Reach have worse games than he had yesterday. Lot worse.
Owls77
I just wish a coach would sit him down and agree on his best position (left midfield), a talented player is being wasted, not influenced a game at all this season apart from cameos!
