I struggle to see many others who are up to the task. What we know about Lees is he's a top pro and has been a good servant. You do a actually need good language skills to be captain nowadays because of all the stuff they do off the pitch. I guess you could have a club captain and a field captain though. When you look at the players who start most weeks they are all free transfers or cheap deals. He's only a leader by example off the pitch as far as I gather, the way he trains and conducts himself professionally. When given the right partner to play alongside he’s been excellent. He’s had a lot of changes defensively to have to cope with in his time and often he’s suffered because of it. It’s fashionable on here to diss a player as soon as he’s struggling.
