Palmer, Fernando and Westwood

Recommended Posts

I like Dawson, think he’s a decent enough keeper, should he be our long term number 1? I’m undecided, however if Westwood was in goal last weekend and he conceded 5 goals he would have been crucified on here, whether the goals where his fault or not.

We have two, three goalkeepers who are all quality.

Should concentrate our hate and venom for other positions.

Have you seen the goals on Saturday and some that we’ve conceded earlier in the season?

I like Dawson but saying we have three quality goalkeepers is pushing it.

We have two keepers with potential still with a bit to improve on.

We have one keeper who has been class but is probably past his best

I wouldn't swap them for another Championships clubs goalkeepers.

We have more pressing problems than the goalkeeping position.

So Westwood has an ego that can't take being second fiddle.

It's a bit crap but he is already here.  Do I, as a manager relying on results to keep my job:

A.Allow him to wallow in self

pity but not totally p him off as I may need him.

B. Freeze him out and never play him again.

Simple as that.

Jos tried B. Monk is going A.

Theres some downsides but that's management.

If Westwood is refusing to be a reserve surely he’s breaking his contract and can be sacked ? Isn’t that how it is ? . I’m not convinced he is refusing not till I hear it from him . As good as Dawson has been he clearly needs work on his distribution and composure with the ball at his feet when under pressure he looks nervous to me but he is otherwise a decent keeper .

Yes, because Dawson never got crucified when he conceded goals last season...

Westwood is actively refusing to sit on the bench. Embarrassing from a professional.

There’s a Sheffield Star article that says the stats between Dawson and Westwood are close.

As I pointed out on Twitter measure mistakes made this season and Dawson rightly has the spot.

Reading between the lines Westwood has got face on about it and is being a bit of an egotistical pr1ck.

Such a shame we offered him a new deal, I said at the time I wouldn’t bother.

Unfortunately we’re likely to be stuck with him another 18 months. I mean who the hell would take a mardy, injury prone player that’s full of mistakes off our hands when they’ll cost you £1m a year?
