EFL- Sheff Wednesday - Derby

Recommended Posts

So thats us and Derby anyway in a pickle,  was Villa the other club gibson called out?

If they are back down next season could all 3 of us be deducted points. What a start to the season that would be for the other clubs.

Imagine if all 3 went down.

League one could be the new championship, Us being the massive club, then Villa, Derby, Sunderland, Stoke, Ipswich, Coventry, Barnsley, Rovrum, Huddersfield, Blackpool, Portsmouth, Bolton (if they pull off a miracle), then add the likes of Donny, Bradford, Grimsby, Salford just for laugh

Half the championship is up a creek without a paddle next year because of ffp.

The constant points deductions reduce the competition to an even greater farce than it is, and that's just the championship.

In all three divisions, we have clubs with potential point deductions. And one league missing a club.

That means every final league position, will be decided in court rather than on the pitch.

Utter madness.

The EFL have brought all this on themselves.

All this because of Gibson IMO

Terrible waste of time and money

The parliamentary select committee also savaged the EFL following the Bury debacle

https://www.parliament.uk/documents/commons-committees/culture-media-and-sport/191104 Chair to Debbie Jevans EFL re football inquiry.pdf

Looks like after that they lost it and tried to retrospectively clamp down on things they’d already agreed to

Ok what about this for a very very out there paranoid theory........

Wasnt Parry one of the initial pioneers of the premier league?

what if he has taken this role to cause chaos with the efl to break it down so badly that the PL2 can be created with clubs saying fizz you????

mmmm is it out of the realms of possibility?

Derby seem to be strongly pushing that the action by the EFL is "Unlawful".

They refer to it numerous times, so are not pleading for clemency or offering mitigating circumstances. They are basically saying "You (EFL) are not allowed under the law to do what you are doing".

Whereas SWFC v FA, where the FA ignored the law of the land in the FF case, after FF had been found not guilty yet still banned him. It looks like Derby have (what looks like) incontrovertible proof in writing, that the EFL sanctioned what they did but have since reneged on their agreement. Seemingly, not dissimilar to what DC is saying.

I said it months ago, that the EFLs position was becoming untenable and sure enough they are starting to look like King Canute wailing at the tide as it engulfs them.

Let them enact their silly little control freak rules with their over riding sense of self importance, but let them do it at the level of their abilities.

I would suggest the list kindly compiled by S6 which includes such luminaries as Jez Moxey - Burton,   Stephen Curwood - Fleetwood  & John Nixon - Carlisle are exactly the level that the EFL are capable of dealing with.

Let them bully, limit & restrain these sort of clubs, (letting clubs like Bury slip through the net in the process) and let's have a new organisation who are capable of maximising the potential of seriously ambitious clubs who can prove they have the wherewithal to fund their ambitions & are more than willing to spend it & narrow the unfair gap between the Prem & the rest.

the thing is we don’t know much from the efl side though, like I said the only logical thing from their end is if they are saying that the board including derby and reading reps have helped authorise this when maybe they shouldn’t have???

who knows but it’s goi g to get messy

Whatever the EFLs side is, they've clearly admitted they messed up in some shape or form & once they've done that they haven't got a legal leg to stand on. Derby's lawyers will decimate them & any other actions against other clubs will carry zero credibility.

Also if they (EFL) lose the case & have to eat humble pie for once, if it's seen to have impacted on Derby's fortunes the damages could be very punitive.

that’s what makes it strange, they know if they are wrong it could cause massive problems. None of it makes sense at all.

Isn’t Gibson suing the EFL for not enforcing the rules .

So they have decided to show they are

You'd think he'd have better things to spend his money on after spunking it all on Boro! Ironically, the reason he got the face on in the first place. His pot became empty; cue sulk & legal action.

Back to the EFL

We need to play these Bent Bàstards with a very straight bat ...

Dont trust anyone.....

We all know they dont like us ...

Parrys looking for blood.

And blood is red

Always is..

And always will be ...

Amazing isn't it.

How many miscreants were dragged before the beak under Parry's stewardship of the Prem?

It seems his new found thirst for fair play & justice has been his conversion on the road to Damascus moment.

Maybe he didn't fancy taking on any of the bigwigs with the same relish as us low lifes in the Champ.

That really is a very damning letter and it’s pretty clear to see why the action against us and Derby has now been taken in some desperate attempt to retain any form of credibility. As others have said, I think we’re on a one way street to PL2. There’s no coming back from this for the EFL if they’ve told clubs they are in compliance and then changed their minds.

On a separate point it’s interesting that the select committee recommends ditching the football creditors rule. I’ve long thought that this, together with failure payments, helps to inflate the bubble that football increasingly seems to operate within.
