The views of the habitual moaners just like those of the habitually pro-club are barely worthy of consideration.

It's obvious this sort of signing is just a low-risk punt. We take a player on and see if we can develop him further to the point of being useful. Maybe it works out, maybe not.

Expecting to be ‘excited’ by a signing such as this is merely to misunderstand what this signing is and what the U23s is ostensibly about.

Failing to recognize when a player is clearly not expected to have an immediate first-team impact is quite simply feeble-minded.

Crikey. This much moaning about what is essentially a development player signing.

Ah well that's the thing, he ain't Gayle, Nketiah, Wickham, Gray or any other "name" ready to roll for action, we (swfc) couldn't possibly at last be thinking further ahead....... No, No that won't do will it.

His track record is light years ahead of Hidalgo.

Yes, Hidalgo played for 3'rd tire Italian dide while he failed to make sing appereance in League One for poor Wimbledon side.

Hidalgo is a low risk gamble that I'm happy for us to take.

Look I love the owls but our recruitment has been pretty crap since the 90's but then we didn't sign a lot of player we should, now we just sign a lot of player we shouldn't.

From the 90's we had Stam on trial but was a left back then, then Cantona saga not playing on grass, we went to Celtic to sign Gorge Cadetta and came back with DiCanio and sacrificed Regi Blinker in the process - can you remember the Regi Wigs (before Chelsea copied us with the Gullitt Wigs)

With all the crap going on off the pitch the team need to focus on the games and the fans need a lift that a new signing for the first team would give.

Instead we get the 10yrs farce idea and the signing of a kid from the Italian 3rd division.

In other news Huddersfield sign Andy King on loan from Leicester a good solid Championship quality central midfielder would have been a good signing for us.

Why the hell do we need a central midfielder though?! Are Bannan, Lee, Luongo, Hutchinson and Pelupessy not enough? Or should we just sign players for the sake of it because they're at a premier league team and therefore must be great?

Some proper weirdos on here, we be first lot whinging if someone else took a punt on him and he turned out to be something special

But people happy enough for us to go out and spunk outrageous money on ur Andre Grays , Gayles and Wickhams

Sometimes wonder if it’s just ‘any excuse for a dig’ on here

We need goals, the only striker we have scoring is now injured, the central midfielders you mentioned have manage the grand total of 4 goals between them all season.

This is why we need a central midfielder who is a box to box player such as Kieren Lee was to add goals to the team.

So you think the 32 year old Andy King is such a midfielder ?

On the face of it does seem an odd signing, was here last year so did they have a good look at him then? Did they like what they saw and told him to keep fit  return this season.  His stats aren't impressive and its a big upheaval for the lad when he could only be here for a year.

But then why haven't any Italian clubs been tempted?

Or is it just to give FF a friend?                  image.png.86fa31688a3d6449591c4c07d36cd588.png

Wonder if Monk will throw some light on it in today's interview.

Having said that hopefully we have found a golden nugget and he will become an established star.

Welcome to the real world

Our midfielders have 20 assists between them though.

What you've said is that we need goals, only have 1 striker who has been scoring and he is now injured fairly long term. And what you conclude from that is we need more central midfielders? Are you high?

Quite happy to take a low cost risk too but Osaze was clearly seen as a good prospect by us from an English league set-up. He hasn't had a great height to fall from. However Benfica academy to 3 starts in 2 years at glorified amateur level at nearly 21 makes Hidalgo much more a wildcard was the point.

At this point I am thinking of looking in the conference for any players as it would appear we are going very very cheap instead of signing the players we need.

Wickham would have been a good replacement for Fletcher as long as he stays fit, Chong from Man Utd would have been good for the right wing and central midfield someone such as Maddison (can also play on the wing) or Jonathon Kodija both can play central and out wide but it doesn't look like we have any money to spend on anyone until we sell or loan out more players.

Or the club has learned lessons from previous recruitment and actually want value for money rather than just throwing money around like confetti?

We could use another CM if we’re playing 4-3-3. A couple of injuries or suspensions and we look pretty light there.
