WC1Owl
Was sat with the L**ds fans Thought it was a very assured and hard working display all around - shut the crowd up by just after the half hour mark. Have given it to big O for not looking at all out of place in only his second match.
Ante's Bubbly
Dawson 7.5 Urhoghide 7 Iorfa 7.5 Borner 7.5 Fox 7 Bannan 7.5 Luongo 6.5 Lee 6.5 Murphy 7.5 Reach 7.5 Winnall 6 Nuhiu 8 Hutchinson 6 Pelupessy 6 I thought that everybody put a very good shift in, but we were under the cosh a bit, as you would expect, first half, although I also thought that our main priority was to contain l**ds 1st half and hopefully get the sucker punch 2nd half. We were all saying this at half time and were comparing our game with that of Arsenal's in the FA cup game against l**ds. Second half we came out looking more lively than l**ds and with a bit more intention going forward giving us that lovely cross from Murphy that was missed by Winnall, who had to gamble on that ball, the opportunity when Fox (was it?) had one cleared off the line for Winnall to hit over and a couple of other threatening pieces of play which were just not polished enough for us to score. When Nuhiu came on and showed us that urgency which he is so good at spreading through the team, we looked a lot more effective. all of a sudden we were holding the ball up better, getting nice flick ons, we were worrying the defenders and you could see that the l**ds defence were terrified of Nuhiu, 1st by reputation, but mainly by what he was doing to them and how much harder they had to work to stop him. His lovely touch and control to play the perfect ball through for Murphy was the kind of thing that Bannan gets praised so highly for, but until then we had not looked likely to provide that killer ball. Then, not to be outdone by his good mate, Bannan produced another perfect ball for Reach, who had made the runs all match down that left hand side but not been picked out so effectively until that ball. Reach then played another lovely ball into the box where Nuhiu managed what Murphy could not quite do earlier in the game and smashed it with deadly accuracy past the l**ds keeper. I know he does not always do it, but given a run in the team Nuhiu has proved his doubters wrong, time and time again. Even the l**ds defenders admitted that despite his previous goals against them, they still regarded him as a just another big player, until it was too late. When Nuhiu is playing regularly his touch, his link up play, his ball holding and his scoring always improve so much (surprise, surprise just like any other striker), but one thing he always brings to the team is a much improved team spirit, plenty of fight, better communication up front and a very big heart in a very big man. Yet again he was a game changer and the very last thing the l**ds defence wanted to see when they were trying to wrestle the game around again in their favour. Shame nothing came of it. Just couldn't shop in that region. Still swings and roundabouts , we might never have got Borner otherwise. Ooh, here, now then. Imagine that. Hector and Borner at the back. That would have been a dream old Combo...

SwellOwl
Late thought: Keiran Lee, looking like his old self last few games. Taking his opportunity and doing his bit for the team. Another positive.
