BREAKING - club statement

Recommended Posts

The whole thing has stunk from the outset.

Ever since the fallout from the Steel City Derby, it has been patently clear that SYP, SAG and the Counsel were looking to deflect blame and make things as difficult as possible for the club.

It went way beyond crowd safety and has clearly been motivated by blame shifting and politics.

SYP knew they screwed up policing at the Steel City Derby and were unwilling to accept responsibility.

Good bit of news that. Surprised the council have said they won’t be putting another notice in. Well done DC. Let’s hope the fight with the EFL turns out the same way.

Said they won’t be putting in another notice..... immediately.

Be pretty stupid of SCC to put forward another one only to have it overturned though.

Just noticed I used SCC and stupid in the same sentence...oh dear.

Everybody blaming SSC but I reckon they were acting alongside SAG and SYP and it was those two who were the instigator in all this.

Didn’t it all start with a report , which the club weren’t part of requested by SYP from some student at Manchester University.

Presumably the police then took this to SAG

Presumably the basis for ongoing discussions will be the subsequent report the club put together.

A professor at Manchester Met.

Basically the same status as a student at Manchester University

The question the judge posed, was not if SWFC would or would not recover costs. But would SCC be liable for all costs or partial costs. I favour SCC having to stand the loss as SWFC gave every opportunity to keep the action out of court. There may also be considerable losses of recoverable revenue to be claimed.

Trouble is would we go down this route if we want a more constructive relationship in the future

Freedom of Information Act request to Sheffield City Council regarding this matter might be interesting.

How about 20k freedom of information requests, that would keep them busy and remind them we are not just football fans but voters who they want to vote for them every 4 years

So we are being unfairly punished by Sheffield city council officers.

As were Wednesdayite.

Councillors need to do their job now and call them to account.

Or we organise and vote in some who will.

no chance of that ever happening
