Not surprised that KW does not fancy being on the bench but if he does not move this month, he is going to find it very difficult continuing to do that. I also wonder whether he has a chronic injury which might be the reason he made those mistakes. Jos obviously was unhappy with his fitness and pointedly said he liked players to train every day in order to be picked , which might have excluded KW and Hutchinson from the team.

Before the last Swansea goal, you could see him stretching his arms before the corner as if he had a problem.

Mind you, he might be thinking that the way he got jostled by attackers with little protection from defenders that match justifies a bit of a feeling of injustice, deepened maybe  by Dawson campaigning by talking regularly to the local press about wanting his chance, saying being disappointed he wasn't picked when KW became available after injury and suspension and seeing helpful newspaper talk this season about other clubs being after him as welcome no doubt.

For the goal where he dropped the ball, he was also pushed in the back from what I recall but he should not have dropped it.

So that’s the Swansea excuses out of the way. If you can come up with some more excuses for his errors against WBA, Blackburn, Fulham, reading and Millwall then we can drop Dawson and get Westwood back in.

Not suggesting that at all if you re read what I wrote.

In those other matches, the errors were not glaring and there is a case for him eg the first one dashing out at Reading when a hesitant Odebajo was uncertain about that guy bursting through and the other match where he dashed out and was unlucky  as he reached out for the ball at waist height on the edge of the  area and the guy went down..penalty..very unfortunate. De Gea has had bad/unlucky spells too.

The defence this season has good figures but has not always looked sound. Hector was error prone but played better overall last season than current central defenders eg Iorfa at fault in both goals vs Cardiff.

Unbelievable that some people are still in denial about him.

He picks and chooses when he wants to be available. Always has. Well known for it within the game.

We pay him a fortune for the privilege. Needs dealing with.

Perhaps Luhukay had him figured out after all?

I'm struck by how similar a stance to his you're adopting on this matter twelve months after the fact...

We gave him a new massive contract.

The Chairman sanctioned that.

Do we even know what we are doing ?

If he's as bad as you say he is, maybe we should have got rid when Luhukay gave us the chance?

Ridiculous to say he is bad. He has had a few bad matches but still made outstanding saves. De Gea has bad spells-does not get dropped.

Now he is out obviously he stays out as Dawson is decent but Dawson did agitate in the press for his chance and was threatening to leave.

Make him available immediately on either loan or a nominal fee.

His career with us is over.

Chucking a sicky is totally different to getting forced out by joker Jos.

He must be certain to go this month. Cannot stay at home on match days forever.

I didn't say he was bad.

Welcome to Owlstalk Westy.

Good day in front of the tv again today ?

But seriously though.. reckon he’ll have had a pay cut given what’s going off with FFP. Seem to remember Bruce putting it as ‘I’ve made him an offer and will see what we can do’. Then it took months to be agreed. Think the 2 years length of contract was likely as a sweetener for taking a wage drop
