Bristol City views on the Owls..

Recommended Posts

Read a few. Typical and expected mixture of those obviously just upset because they'd been beaten by us, and those who on the whole probably couldn't give a monkey's about a team many miles away from  their own.

Much as I'd expect to see on any fans forum to be honest.

Couldn't see anything on there about dragging hardened fans hundreds of miles with a nil-nil result as the objective though.

That's rude.  Alan is a good comrade.  Better than most of the pro-Nuhiu contingent here.

I'm sure Alan's a nice chap, but since he likes hanging around on Owlstalk (and who can blame him?), I'm sure he's used to the way things work around here and won't take it personally.

I'll skim over the Nuhiu comment. As it's Christmas Eve, my vow to refuse to discuss Brexit, religion or Nuhiu kicked in a few hours ago. I don't want to fall out with anyone over the festive season!

Don't mind Bristol City. Driving from Wiltshire to Hillsborough i often bump into Rovers and City fans at services and they seem a decent bunch. Rovers in particular have a great self deprecating sense of humour. The only team in this region which has a real chip on there shoulder is Swindon Town.

Pretty mixed responses there from the Bristol fans.

I have always found Bristol on odd case if I’m being honest when it comes to football. Without a doubt City are the biggest club in that area by some distance but they don’t seem to command the types of crowd you’d expect from the biggest club in such a large catchment area.

Perhaps things would really take off down there if they were to go up?

Either way, whenever we’ve played them I’ve always found their fans to be an ok bunch.

I dont read these articles, they only seem to appear from clubs we've beaten.

Also, I always look at a club's away following on the Leppings Lane end, Bristol's support could fit on one coach

I know its Christmas, I know its early kick off, I know it's on Sky, but come on, that was the following of a small club

Just a bloke, who used up all his luck in one go when he met his wife.

Just viewed their forum. The gape in members is extraordinary, 62 members recently viewing. Just demonstrates the size of our club compared to the likes of theirs. 678 viewing our pages currently on a Xmas Eve before 9am.

612 of them are Neil under different names drumming up trade.
