sMacLean
He'll do well in the pub league. Be great to put his saved wages for 6 months towards signing Lyle Taylor or similar.

First thing they would have to do is build new stadiums cos the current ones are nowhere near big enough for the support they would get With the prem money and their own revenue streams going through the roof they would end up there with Liverpool and Man U in stature

Win every week, win the league every season, European football, big crowd, passionate fanbase. I’d rather play for Celtic than be a Championship bench warmer. But players use them as a stepping stone to bigger things. Porto, Benfica etc are similar in regards too. Money is everything in football these days. We're a smaller club than Brighton now, due to money. Sad fact, but a true one. Doesn't that all depend what you are basing "being a big club" on? Personally I dont think basing it on how much money they have necessarily makes them a big club - there are clubs in the Premiership which I still wouldn't class as a "big club". Leeds I would class as a big club as I would Celtic - neither are in the Premiership.

modboy
I've seen a mixture of sites stating his contract expires this and some saying 2021. I'm sure the swfc press release stated when we signed him it would end in 2021

"Truly good" I mean, Van Dijk did. That Nakamura fella was pretty decent. I could list numerous good players who have plied their trade in Scotland at some point. Yeah, they haven't been awash with world class talent (money again), but still. And this still doesn't get away from the point that a move to Celtic would be a great one for Jordan Rhodes. prowl
They are a big fish in a small pond. With their current team where would they finish in the English league system? That's this season, nothing to do with who they could buy if they had Premiership money.
