  • Dawson 7..pipe and slippers today but confident when needed
  • Palmer.. 8....Terriffic esp at left back. Almost scored and cleared off the line too
  • Fox...6 ...not much impact on game
  • Bannan...9 MOM...doncha just love him
  • Lees...8...Rock solid but awful distribution
  • Iorfa...7..looked clumsy at full back but did OK
  • Reach..8 almost MOM full of running and a constant threat. But did waste some opportunities to make the most of that famous left foot
  • Luongo....6 Surprised he's getting so much praise on here. Seems to plod ponderously around the pitch and nesh any opportunity to be a threat. Did win more tackles than anyone else though
  • Nuhiu...6...Did OK and won a penalty but I'll be much happier when Fletch is back
  • Rhodes....5 another one of those days when he didn't score so was hardly noticed
  • Harris....8 ..doesn't see enough of the ball but when he does he's brilliant. Works hard too. Loved his huge grin at the end.
  • Borner...8...Seems harsh that he can't play every week
  • Winnall...N/A
  • Pelupessy..N/A

Dawson 7

Poor kicking but great in every other department

Palmer 8

Solid defensively, decent going forward, must be hard for a fullback to switch sides like that but he adapted well.

Lees 7.5

Solid

Iorfa 7

Showed why I think he should play at right back regularly

Fox 6

Quiet game before he got injured

Reach 7.5

Played well second half

Bannan 7

Kept throwing a strop all game, must just be his time of the month, still great penalty to win it.

Luongo 7

Did well, never a yellow card.

Harris 6.5

Tried but never worked for him

Rhodes 6.5

As above

Nuhiu 5.5

Poor, won us the penalty though

Borner 7.5

Solid

Winnall 6

Should have started, came on a bit too late

Aye, not been getting much of a mention today but I thought he did very well.

Yeah, very direct and looked faster and strong too. Regularly went past their left back with ease

Dawson - 7

Bystander. Kicking was a bit dodgy first half but again commanded his area well and seems to be growing in confidence

Palmer - 8

Good game and his link up play and awareness is as good as it’s ever been. Unlucky not to score

Iorfa - 7

Usual dominant display. Moved to RB and struggled positionally but compensated with his pace power and commitment

Lees - 10 mom

Won everything in the air. Been very good since his return but his positioning play today was superb

Fox - 6 was looking fine up until his injury, hope it’s not serious

Borner - 7

Again, another player who looked like he’d never been away. We are so comfortable at the back

Harris - 8

How much energy does this kid have? Never looks tired, still bombing at their full-back in the 90th min. Going to be a huge player for us

Luongo - 8

Very intelligent player. Was superb at intercepting play. Very tidy and always looks to knick the ball and get things moving a bit negative at times with free kicks at their box ending up back at Dawson.

Bannan - 9

Could easily have been MOM too. Was the match winner today and should have had that caption a lot more often in his time with us.

Reach - 8

Never stopped running and some neat touches. Him and Harris on each wing with their constant energy must be a nightmare for defenders

Rhodes - 6

Didn’t happen for him today. Worked hard but it wasn’t sticking

Dave -6

I am not an advocate for Dave starting games as it changes our style and we seem much more laboured in the final third. But in flashes it can be effective, and he won us the match today

I have changed the above scores as I believe that Tom Lees was the best player on the pitch followed by Palmer , Bannan and Luongo,!!!!!!

It was tight between Luongo, Palmer, Bannan and Reach today. All fully played a little more than their part. But decided on Palmer for a first half full of involvement efforts on target, denying Jack one of those looping headers that sometimes find us out and managing the switch after Fox had to go off. Luongo and Reach ; Luongo in the thick of the challenges throughout. Reach showing the trickery so often missing this season and Bannan conducting proceedings perfectly.

  • Dawson 7

Good hardworking display, managed to squeeze a winner out of a game we never looked like losing.

Thought Nuhiu and Rhodes didn't work well together, they never looked on the same wavelength. Tactically it looked like we were looking for Rhodes to feed off Nuhiu flick-ons but it didn't come off.

Dawson.   7. Quite afternoon, safe handling but poor distribution.

Fox.         6.5. Another dependable performance until injured

Iorfa.        7. Moved to wing back but didn't look comfortable in that role, strange not to be considering him for MOM

Lees.        7.5 solid performance.

Palmer.     8.5 Had to move across when Fox went off, as good a game as I have seen him have, the goal line clearance as good as a goal. Was also much better when going forward.

Harris.     8 Another really good performance can cross with either foot when running at pace, a great signing.

Bannan.   9. MoM  Dictated play, some of his passing was sublime and scored the pen.

Loungo.   7. Makes us solid in midfield does the dirty work well.

Reach.     7.5. Looks like he is getting some form back, as always worked hard which really helps us defensively.

Nuhiu.     6.5 Won his fair share of the ball in he air, right decision to leave him on and Substitute Rhodes.

Rhodes.  5.5 Not his game chasing flick ons, MoM last week but innefective today.

Subs

Borner   8.  Though he was solid as a rock when he came on.

Cracking result considering not having Fletcher and having to change our defensive line up mid-game. Yes they had lost 2 in a row but beat Fulham in their last away game and had 2 of their preferred starting defenders back in the team.

We started slow and seemed to be struggling to get to grips with their shape but from midway through the 1st half we were the better side. Bannan the stand out for me, thought Luongo was off the pace a bit first half but much better 2nd. Harris never stops trying and another good performance from Reach. defence looked solid despite the enforced sub which meant Dawson only had to make a couple of routine saves.
