Best opposition player/team you've seen at Hillsborough

Recommended Posts

The premiership days are a little bit of a distant memory for me...

So player it would be one Mr J Rhodes playing for Huddersfield when he scored four.

Team, tough one. I think we played Watford and got absolutely dicked on on a cold Tuesday night, lost 0-4/5 or sommat.

Said it before on here.

A certain left winger, who got sent down for noncing as the song goes, was unplayable.

Wouldn't have thought Gary Glitter had the engine to be a winger.

Hard to say, although one particular Chelsea performance (1-4), with Zola and Vialli up front stands out for me

Ruud Gullit, a midweek game against Chelsea.

Best player on the pitch and hardly broke sweat

Player: Michael Owen or Alan Shearer

Team: Arsenal under Wenger always put the fear of God into me...until we dicked them 3-0 in the cup, anyway!

Ali Bernabia was out of this world when Manchester City thrashed us 6-2 at Hillsborough. Almost as good as Waddle's show against West Ham

Team wise, Chelsea's 4-1 victory over us in 1997? They taught us a lesson in football that day.

Genuinely Rhodes and Forestieiri.

Rhodes scores 4 against us, he was absolutely lethal that day. Forestieri for Watford, I think they hammered us. Remember Bothroyd blazed one over from 5 yards out in added time and we all lost it with him. FF was incredible that night for Watford.

Ironic how they both became Wednesday players.

For Boro? I think I remember the game you are thinking of. He tore us apart that evening.

Andrei Kanchelskis ripped us apart in the mid 1990s. Scored a fabulous hat trick. That was the single, best performance I think I've ever seen.

He didn't but Rolf Harris did.

That Watford game I remember being sat on the KOP when Bothroyd missed that chance and he got some right abuse for it, as you say think that was the final straw for the fans patience with him. Think we had Martin Taylor at centre half aswell and he was absolutely abysmal that night.
