Sad news.

 

Heard him talk about his love for Wednesday and how he used to travel to the games on the bus and get into the ground early as a young lad. He always mentioned us with deep affection.

 

Shame he never managed us in his heyday.

One of those iconic figures from when football was still just about the ‘old’ game - very nostalgic for me, belonged to the era of football being a weird sort of magic when I was a kid. RIP lad.

This is sad news.

Think he was from Firth Park. A proper football man.

I can remember him being strongly linked with coming to us as manager a couple of times.

I was desperate for him to get the job when we went down in 2000. unfortunately it never happened

that is sad news ….I didn't know him but thru Arthur Rowley jim sent me 2 tickets for the cup game when he was oxfords manager in 84  .RIP

Yes, sad news Always used to see him in our local Italian, and only mentioned last week that I hadn’t seen him for a while
