Burnley are amongst a number of premier league clubs monitoring big dom and are preparing a £15m bid according to Alan Nixon.

Surely if he is to go we can get more than £15m, didn't they sell Michael Keane for £30m?

If it’s 15 million, sell sell sell

£15m sounds good. But make sure there’s also a sell on fee, because the lad has the potential to be a top RB/CH/DM.

And I’m sure we have plenty of replacements from our 200+ list.

As per above - Burnley are also a selling club if Dom continues to improve.

Hopefully some nippy forwards on our 200+ list - what we old uns wouldn't give for a Williams or Varadi to support Fletch up top.

If the OP is correct and they do make this sort of offer, this is one of those times that even though you don't want to lose the player the offer is too good to refuse.

The £15m would give GM £5m to reinvest in the team and £10m to help balance the books.

The flipside to everyone shouting sell - which I can understand at 15 million - is that with a likely large points deduction coming our way, Iorfa is one of a small handful of great players that are pushing the team on. Lose quality players like him who take games by the scruff of the neck, we could quickly find ourselves in a hole we can't get out of.

15 million or relegation?

This^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^.

25% sell on clause could take the final fee to £20m+

Only if they sell him for £20m!

With our luck he'll be like Brunt at WBA, we have a sell on clause and he then spends the rest of his career at that club...

That would be a cracking bit of business and could help secure 2-3 top signings for us.

Doubt we would be able to reinvest the money given FFP. Shouldn’t be a worry though given that we have Hutch, Lees, Thorniley and Bates in reserve. If ever we could sell a star player and absorb the impact then this would be it.

With all the media attention about potential docked points, fines and embargos etc, any club interested would offer us less than he's worth as they know we need incoming cash. Unfortunately we'd probably have to accept a lower bid just to fend off FFP. Hopefully, if we didn't get a high value offer maybe they could loan him back until the summer as part of the deal so at least we can keep the quality until the end of the season.

We pick up a bargain, start to develop him, and at the first signs of money , we want to sell!

Do we want a football club or a large bank account?

When have we ever sold at the first signs of money! It's a no brainer that we've got to sell at that price.

Don't think they are the options. If we do receive a large points deduction, we would be involved in a relegation battle and there's no guarantee we would stay up by holding on to him. Keeping Iorfa makes no sense at all because if we were actually relegated his value would plummet. Sell now if the reports are true.

If we're getting punished for breaking limits anyway we don't need to "fend off FFP" at the moment unless we're heading for a huge loss this year as well which isn't entirely unlikely although it wouldn't be as high as previous years after ofloading a few big earners in the summer and getting a fee for Joao..

But I agree that any buying club would try and get him cheaper in the circumstances. We'll take £14.9m then!
