Good run of 7 games

Recommended Posts

Our fixtures to 1st Jan. Seven games in 23 days.

BRENTFORD

Derby

Forest

BRISTOL C

Stoke

CARDIFF

HULL

Yesterday’s strong showing and highly deserved 3 points put us two points off 5th and 3 points off 4th.

We’ve 4 homes and 3 aways coming up, and none of them should fill us with fear.

We have yet to be comfortably beaten. Not once by more than a single goal. In contrast, five of our wins have been by two or three goals.

Some individual naivety and lots of bad luck have taken key points off us. Hopefully Monk is working on the mental side to eradicate the former, and hopefully our desperate luck hitting the goal-frame will change very soon.

West Brom, Leeds and probably Fulham look a class apart. Fine - no worries. Our key rivals become  Forest, Preston, Bristol City, Brentford, Cardiff etc.... and we can finish near the top of that mini-league.

These 7 games come thick and fast, and can shape our season. Massive fingers crossed we come through them in great shape.

Difficult to predict outcome in most games in this league, who would have thought Hull would thump Preston 4-0 then a few days later lose 3-1 to Barnsley.

21 points to play for in those 7 games, a return of 14 points would be decent.

The cloud of a points deduction which hangs over us is in danger of killing off any hope of play offs. I can't be the only one who is finding it increasingly difficult to be optimistic in threads like these while the EFL mandarins shuffle with our club's future.

I was saying to my dad yesterday that nobody has really given us a good hiding yet, even the defeats have been by fine margins

QPR. Winning at half time, second half collapse

Hull. Should have had a pen which would have been 1-1

Millwall. Battered their 10 men for an hour , couldn’t get the goal

Blackburn. Best not to speak about that one

WBA. Played well and got done at the end

Cardiff, Swansea and Birmingham should have all been beaten too

Could easily be sitting here with another 15 points, and sat top of the league

I agree completely would love us to properly in the mix to leave us with an outside chance when the FA  deduct us 12 or 15 points

Think DC could and should challenge strongly on the basis that the EFL standpoint is a revisionist one. The decision had already been made.
