Just a bit of debate, nowt more..  I personally think we would get around 3 million but others disagree.

Straight yes or no.

He's easily worth £2.5m in today's market. Yet again, we see our own fans, criminally undervaluing our own players.

He's a Championship defender, in his peak years, with over 300 Championship appearances for big clubs.

Transfermarkt.com have him valued at £3.5m, and they tend to value on the low side.

At 29 though, his value isn't going to get any higher, and there is some merit in potentially cashing in on Lees, whilst his value still represents a decent revenue for the club, AND, more crucially, we have cover in the squad to replace him.

Would anybody really have too many concerns if, after January, we pocketed £4-5m for Tom Lees and still had Iorfa and Borner at centre half, with Hutchinson, Thorniley and Bates as cover.

The right time to sell Lees was probably two seasons ago...we'd have probably got a little bit more money for him...but back then, we didn't have the cover to replace him without going out and buying someone else. And so, to replace Lees like for like, would've probably cost similar to what we'd have got for him (we were quoted £6m for Sean Morrison around that time), which wouldn't have made too much sense. So, now is probably the last chance we'll get to get some decent money for him.

Not sure we could hope for more than a million for a player who isn't a first choice centre-back in a championship side that isn't even top 6.

Not being critical of Lees. He'd give good value at that price but I can't see anyone offering more.

Gary Madine went for 6 million

Just a bloke, who used up all his luck in one go when he met his wife.

No ,seriously if one of the promotion hopefuls needs a centre back in January due to injury etc we might, and if we did get a sensible offer it's time to sell.

If another Championship club had him now, they'd get £5m, us on the other hand would probably release him for free and bring in a 4ft 9" replacement that has never played professional football previously and we would pay at least £9m for them from Wolves. We would continue to sign the cheque even when their CEO is pulling our CEOs pants down at the live TV signing.
