Who was slagging him off after that game against Birmingham?

‘never gets over half way line’

‘Hollywood square balls’

Immense again today and he is the one that makes us tick - well in Barry

Correct

I posted in the slagging thread that some on these august pages don’t deserve to have players like Bannan playing for the side they supposedly support

Me he was exactly the same first half after the goal. Him and hutch were bordering on two extra Central defenders.

After half time he played where he should be playing and let hutch sit. Not sure if he's being told to sit but he needs to push forward like he did in the 2nd half otherwise we have 0 movent when we play with a 2 in the middle.

Mentioned this in the match day thread. Get two wingers playing like wingers and bannan pushing higher and we look a lot better.

Those who slate him don’t understand the game.

Superb again today. Controlled the game in the middle and deservedly man of the match. Sky pundits might be annoying but they do know the game, and they always give MOTM to Bannan. He’s top draw.

The thing is, and it happens a lot on here, it’s possible to slag a performance without slaughtering the player Bannan has poor games like all players but a poor performance shouldn’t detract from the fact that he’s a quality player overall, too many don’t differentiate

Very commonly the best player on the pitch

It is possible for a good player to have a bad game and it be pointed out you know.  That he had a better second half today doesn't hide the fact his previous 3 halves were poor.

He has a get out of jail free card in his left boot but too often he doesn't put in the hard yards he needs to in the position he plays.  He improved once Hutch went off and generally in the second half.  But he was still garbage against Brum.

He’s very rarely bad

And when he’s not there we don’t have anyone doing what he does in there, no like for like

Wonderful to watch

Our fanbase has a long history of scapegoating our better players Bannan.png.ef443b7f1e6292f8b7f9d9cec389e995.png

Perhaps it stems from expecting too much from them and too little from our cr*p players?

Think Bannan is a fantastic player but literally only gives the performances like today when the camera is on him...would like to see how many man of the matches he has got when the sky cameras are on him....basically every time

Must have been at a different game. First half was ok against Brum, second half was at the heart of every attacking move.

Didn’t I read a stat during the game he’s top for chances created in the Championship? Says it all.

The best thing about Bannan...He never ever hides or shys away from the ball or even the dirty stuff...Even when things are going pear shaped or its not happening for him

You weren't there on Wednesday were you.  He spent plenty of time hiding.

Too inconsistent and as good as he is going forward he often shirks his defensive duties

Theres this thing with Wednesday fans where Bannan seems immune from any criticism.

People are allowed to point out when a player has a poor game.
