Well, that was frustrating. Based on the chances created its the kind of game we would win 9 times out of 10... but having seen our attackers in action this season there's no surprise it will be another game in the 'two points dropped' category.

My ratings:

Dawson - 7, no chance with the goal, a couple of solid saves and good quick distribution

Odubajo - 6, same old, same old, showed promise in attack but let Jimenez get a run on him for the goal. A few sloppy passes too.

Fox - 8, our most improved player, linking up well in attack and played in Fletcher but his control let him down

Iorfa - 8, MoM, our best defender and, increasingly, our best attacker

Börner - 7, pretty solid until he went off injured

Bannan - 7, neat and tidy for the most part apart from horror moment when he almost set up a goal from them with header back

Lee - 6, linked up well at times, wasted best chance when a square ball for Fletcher would have been a tap in

Luongo - 7, good energy and involved, but like much of our attack lacked a cutting edge

Reach - 6, ran hard and hastled and harried, but did little in attack, gave ball away in build up to goal

Harris - 7, frustrating in first half, but improved as game went on and finally got the got (a bit out of nothing, I was thinking 'not another long-shot...')

Fletcher - 6, what to say? Back to goal he's the best Wednesday striker in a generation, always wins the header, always holds the ball up. But fluffs the crucial chances time and again. That one in the first half particularly was a great chance and the ball just bounced off him

Lees - 7, just as solid as Börner was

Forestieri - 8, showed what we had been missing - that spark, control, and impetus to make something happen. Has to start at Charlton I reckon.

Nuhiu - 7 - held the ball up well in dangerous areas, unlucky with that shot near the end

So, basically a load of 6s and 7s, but put them together and we lack incisiveness. Like we're relying on a mistake for the opposition or something to fall for Lee and Luongo in the middle, or Harris to beat two men every time. I think the 4-5-1 system is partly to blame for this - we're the home team so need to be forcing the pace and getting more players beyond Fletcher. Surely we can't keep having twice as many shots as the oppo and failing to win...?!

Dawson 6 punched a cross instead of flapping, should keep his shirt

Moses 6 let some crosses in but more positive than palmer

Iorfa 8* worth more than the rest combined, makes defending look easy and makes warhurst type runs skinning opps for fun. Also skinned a full back and crossed into box (give reach some tips?)

Lees/borner 6 gonna have to fight it out lads, iorfa at cb only think monk done to improve us.

Fox 6 gets crosses in but lets costly ones in too

Reach 3 gave ball away for goal, usually goes backwards and sideways, not a winger goal scorer or creator. Criminal to start him over ff. Left midfield or lwb only, hes a runner.

Bannan 6 not as good on ball as usual

Lee 5 not offering enough

Luongo 6 ok but not involved or in dangerous positions enough

Harris 7 better on right, has looked poor on left for a while, poor to keep playing him there with ff available

Fletch 5 not clinical but not much else either

Ff 7 positive intent in final 3rd and lifting team. How hes not starting on left with harris right is baffling and makes me think monk is far too cautious or even clueless about scoring and creating.

Nuhiu 6 maybe rest fletch with nuhiu between ff and harris next.

Dawson 6 did ok but why is he on his knees for their goal? Weird

Odubajo 7 did well almost scored a thunderbolt

Iorfa 9 immense

Borner 6 been poor since Blackburn

Fox 6 is it just me or does he run like he’s got poo running down his leg?

Bannan 6 too deep

Lee 5 missed a sitter

Luongo 6.5 good until last 15 mins

Reach 5 struggled

Harris 6.5 would have been lower except for excellent finish

Fletcher 5 poor

Lees 6 at fault for goal??

Forestieri 7 should be starting

Nuhiu 7 had an impact again

We were t brilliant but far better than them. Poor finishing but also bad luck. Two off the line, crossbar and a definite penalty for handball. Poor tactics at home but still did enough to win!

iorfa was the stand out in a steady defence who all played ok …..the rest though were under par with lee, reach and louongo offering absolutely nothing .best thing you can say about bannan is he didn't hide but was far from his best .harris was awful but he did score a decent goal to redeemed himself slightly ….fletch should have done better with a couple of chances …..FF and nuhiu added a bit of a threat …….despite being poor we should have won in a canter as brum where shocking .
