If this isnt resolved by January can we just spend and tie current players down to contracts ?

I thought Chelsea did something similar.

Yeah. Be like the last meal before the guillotine falls. I'm hoping for Vardy.

I would assume any transfer ban will be imposed quickly with a later judgement on points deduction to come. Presumably based on our league position.

If by come chance we are 6th and 9 points clear of 7th expect a 10 point deduction to just push us out.

Not a chance we’ll be allowed to do business in January now I reckon

I'm waiting for the local media to start besmirching Whelan & Brunt Bannan & Forrestieri before the January transfer window

I wouldn't hold my breath for the EFL sanctioning any incoming transfers in January.

I can’t see why there should be any impact on January business, unless the issue is sorted.  Surely even though this is SWFC and the EFL they can’t be punished until the case is finally settled

Don't see why it should impact january unless the hearing takes place before.

Worst case scenario,  the EFL kangaroo court put themselves above the law and professional auditors, pending appeal and litigation,  the ground sale maybe then goes into the following years accounts and our 3 year FFP cycle looks a lot healthier, with plenty of room to spend.

Just means we'll have to win the league by 13 points to compensate for a points deduction.

We could be the only team in football history with the same 5 players in the starting 11 for 15 years.

Said this yesterday in another thread. We are almost certainly in an embargo already. The EFL had us under one before they saw our documentation, now they've seen it and don't like it then it stands to reason.

On the flip side, if it proves that these transactions were acceptable to HMRC then there should be no issue with the EFL. However, HMRC may be our next knock at the door.

The EFL are not known for acting quickly, so it could be 2020 before anything is done, and as we deemed innocent till proven guilty, I cannot see why we cannot trade as usual.

Surely the question has to be what decent player is going to tie themselves to us with this hanging over us? None I would suggest.

Good loanees at best is all we can hope for if this is not resolved.

A couple of good loanees is all we need in Jan.

We've been under more embargoes than Colonel Gaddafi, I fully expect us to be under one from now until this shitty mess is sorted.
