Watched it with Jason Robinson and he said my summing up of the game was perfect.

was he sat with you then?

he'd not need specialist knowledge to see their defence was very strong (outfought), and the scrum half was running the game (outthought) but a major shackle was the referee.

just to help you with your 'assessment' the ITV, asking jason robinson was akin to when they had robbie earle on giving his 'expert opinion on champions league football.

robinson was a winger, and a league player for half his time, he spent his life avoiding a pack, let alone knowing what was going on in one, and that game was won at the 'coal face' which was ruined by refereeing, not on jason robinson's touchline.

I especially enjoy 'biting' you, as you love to post on things you know f*** all about, but keep coming anyway, the other week it was 'football tactics'.

see you're back to your tried and tested half a line answer, it attempts to cover your lack of knowledge on the subject your looking to 'impart' your 'expertise' upon once again.

we didn't win at that, we just ended up with the trophy.

the umpire being motm, as the ref was today.

So you are saying we didn't win the CWC, the officials handed it to us but we only lost the RWC today due to the officials being biased in SA's favour?

We may have been fortunate in the CWC but only the truly elite teams win major tournaments without a bit of luck along the way. The players believed it was possible when most fans thought it had gone and so deserved their success. New Zealand accepted defeat in better grace than you have taken our victory it seems.

Ref didn't help, BUT they dominated us in every aspect, scrummaging  (though i agree a few strange decisions), lineouts, tackling, tactics.

They were just too powerful in nearly every contact, it was the complete opposite of last week, when we were the ones knocking NZ backwards and causing them to make many mistakes, this time they did it to us and completely stopped us getting any forward momentum and then being able to play "our Rugby".

They got their tactics spot on and then went out and executed it perfectly.

Deserved victory for them.

Now, back to the football.

C'mon you Blue & White wizards!!

had the cricket world cup final rules been followed to the letter, england would not have won.

I agree with your summary, but I believe it would have been a closer game had there been a different referee.

Cricket WC 1st

Rugby union WC 2nd

Rugby League WC 2nd (I think)

The WC 4th.

Olympics 2nd? (Ok it GB) in medal table (again not certain on this)

Could say nearly men.

I'd much rather say, the greatest sporting nation across all forms of sport.

Flamin’ heck, I was about to post the exact same thing.

Maybe so, as I say a little bit of luck needed at times. It was a very rare occurrence that caused that decision, so much so that at the time New Zealand didn't question the decision that the umpires made.

The ref wasn't great today but didn't affect the game by a 20-pint margin. Sadly the better team on the day won.

Typical blame it on the French.

As a complete novice it was obvious to me that English were outthought and outfought in all areas.  That little lad with the long hair never stopped running and harriering our players.

If that was the England football team the press would be having a field day slagging them off.

Anyway back to real football now.

As you are a complete novice you probably wont get this but, had the ref been Nigel Owens instead, completely different game.

England didn't turn up(shock) quite simple really

South Africa dominated the forward pack and England played into their hands

South Africa basically out-Englanded England. England didn't have a plan B and South Africa's Plan A was the same but they just did it better. It's sport isn't it and let's face it Wednesday over the years have been the epitome of inconsistency. Match the top dogs one week; get convincingly beaten by someone in bottom 3 next. I'm sticking my neck out and saying we are a bit different this year with Monk. Don't  roll over and die and are as up for games against the "bottom" clubs as the top. So I'm going for 0-2 to the Wednesday today, Fletcher and finally........Palmer.
