Almost forgot...

Walk out of Boltons  ground and  across the M61 and you're in Wigan .

Today's Referee Mr Lee Mason from Bolton !!!

Dodged a reyt bullet here ...

Never offside in a million years ...

Just watched highlights now I’m home. Can’t see how it could be offside.
Wigan had two on their goal line and a third falling into the net as the ball went to him.

But theres another thread dissecting it as we speak ..

I can't see where he got offside?

I saw it exactly as you did Blatts...

I'm just a little happy he bolloxed the throw in

In the Lepp / South corner and cancelled it out by giving us one straight down the pitch on the other side North / Kop corner which was theirs ...

I dreaded the Wednesday Way outcome here (equaliser)..

In the end we deserved the 3 points we grafted

n spat in a game that was always going to be tough ...

Good practice for the Charltons Cardiff Stoke n Leeds  coming up..

All "mucky" teams to play ..

Well done Wednesday

Well done Monkey .....

Guest The Horse

Borner was a class above today.
He read so many balls in and intercepted them, was calm and assured and like someone said above - he won everything in Squeaky Bum time.
A modern day, central Roland Nilsson. Ish.

Westwood - 7 good tip over the bar

Odubajo - 6 did alright but makes some strange decisions that puts us under pressure unecessarily

Iorfa - 8 won plenty in the air, covered back well and recovered when he made a mistake.

Borner - 9 Calm under pressure. Reads the game superbly. Immense today. His forward run made the goal.

Palmer - 7 pretty solid. Had a good game

Joey - 7 he's improving. Worked his arse off. Did what was asked and did it well.

Luongo - 7 Again pretty solid. Always looks forward. Well taken goal. When fully match fit he'll keep Hutch out of the team.

Bannan - 8 Dictated the game. Was able to get further up the pitch and do more damage.

Reach - 6 frustrates the hell out of me. Plays some slick football but his half challenges annoy me. Seemed to react once the goal went in. Needs to work that hard all game not just 15 minutes. Can understand why he was yanked.

Harris -7 not getting it all his own way anymore. But worked hard and got some decent crosses in. Must stop taking the ball inside and losing it on the halfway line.

Fletch -8 immense again. Works his arse off.

Subs

Lee -5 did ok. Needs more game time

Nuihu -5 not a lot if time to make an impact but held it up well.

Murphy -5 did ok

Decent performance to grind it out.

Got to go for Borner, solid and composed.

Westwood didn't have much to do but made 2 very good saves. Iorfa complimented Borner well again defensively but was a little slow in possession a couple of times for me. Pelupessy nearly cost us a goal first half but improved as the game went on and was involved in the build up to the goal. Harris is a clear threat and creates space for others as the opposition are focused on him. Bannan played further forward today and was unlucky not to score. Luongo was a bit up and down with his passing and decision making but offers a goal threat from the middle of the park. Fletcher was a far more effective focal point against 3 defenders than either of our 2 strikers offered on Tuesday night. Full backs did their job, Reach had another inconsistent performance, lost the ball a few times with weak passes and tackles that he was favourite for but kept going, got into good positions and played a well weighted pass to Luongo for the goal.

Not a great display by any means but no doubt that we deserved the 3 points.
