EFL have fresh concerns over Hillsborough sale

They really won't leave us alone until we're in a new stadium far away from Hillsborough and playing in the conference or whatever it's called these days.

Well, fizz 'em.

I hope Chansiri farts in their general direction at the meeting whilst wearing a Forestieri mask.

Pretty sure the clubs legal advisors will have got this covered

You would hope. EFL are looking for blood for clubs using loopholes. The valuation of any stadium is up to the buyer. This will not be sorted for some time. Expect this to drag to death.

The value of something is solely dependent on the price someone is prepared to pay, its basic economics.

If Chansiri's new company think our ground is worth 60m+ then that's what it's worth.

Wonder if he haggled with himself over the price.

Unfortunately accounting rules say it has to be at open market value, and the EFL rules permit them to adjust any transactions that aren't eg sponsorship

All depends how the club got the value of the ground established. Independently or not?

..and backdated it to 2018 accounts?

Basically what the accountants etc on here have been questioning for the last few months.

But christ, the EFL don’t half mess around. Presumably they were happy enough with our accounts 2 months ago, given they got sign off and we were taking out of the embargo. Why not check this stuff at that point?

I can see them making an example of us.

Monk would feel fated... agreeing to manage two clubs that ended up with points deductions.

Lets hope we get away with it !!

There's nothing to "get away with" the EFL have cocked up their own rules and allowed the loophole that clubs have exploited, they can't punish on a ruling that doesn't exist.
