Paul Corry and his time at S6

Recommended Posts

Tell you what, he ran the show against Leeds on his full debut.

Him and Barkley in the middle of the park looked great together.

Just shows you how much luck and a clear pathway you need to make it as a player, the player for your position getting injured, having the right manager, one little thing can completely derail a career.

Interesting read. But keeping an open mind - very one sided story obviously. We were pretty dire at that point weren't we, when we decided to bring Coke and Prutton back into the frame. I remember it being a breath of fresh air when Coke and Prutton came back.

Olifenjana had played for Jones at two? previous clubs. Yet was telling a Wednesday player to get away from the manager.  That has a whiff of a wage stealer about it.  No wonder we were rubbish around that time with the likes of him and Bothroyd taking from the club

One good game that was about it. Far too lightweight and soon dropped down the leagues.

Bloody hell I forgot Stephen Mcphail played for us.

Remember when he was too knackered to go over and take a corner? Think it was a home defeat against Doncaster.

Seeing it from a different perspective, that might have been Olifinjana telling Corry that he needed to get out of the club for his own development .. he was never gonna hit the big time with us, and there's a reason why he's now retired at the age of what, 28 is it? (says injuries caused him to retire)

so better me saying that he never pulled up any trees after us

Thats how I read it too (although... I honesntly dont remember Olifinjana playing for us at all)

It also goes to show what some were saying on here at the time that Stuart Gray wasnt much different to Jones as a manager. Same tactics, same style of play and same formation.

Complete waste of space who thought he'd made it when he came to us.

Didn't realise he had to work hard and perform.

Has found his level.

Hardly an unfamiliar story and - hard as it will have been for him - if you can’t deal with that you aren’t cut out for pro football.

In reality, he just wasn’t really good enough.
