Second guess Garry

OK, while we’re on tactics. Although I would say, 4-3-3 suits the majority of players we have, our front three are a big problem, and one that I don’t think can easily be remedied from within. Selling Joao, and not bringing in a similar type of player on loan, may turn out to be a big mistake. Harris and Murphy were good signings, and added some much needed pace, but along with Fletcher, they’re a bit rigid. We aren’t going to pull sides apart with our movement, there is nobody willing to find pockets of space, it’s all a bit predictable Possibly when Forestieri returns, that will help, but I still don’t see any of the others being able to interchange In short, it’s far too basic

I genuinely thought that the international break would never get to you..lol

I should have gone away. But The Monks-Cowl thing kept me here.

Then it was too late to get away for any worthwhile break.

And now I've wastes my great lyrical work during the International slumber.  Better wash this lighting flash and silver tear drop off my face and recreate myself ready for Huddersfield.

Bruce mostly played 4-4-2 last season and it worked really well. So if Monk played 4-4-2 at Birmingham too then it seems perfectly logical to try it.

Since last season the midfield options are improved with Lee returning and Luongo signing.

My main doubt with a 4-4-2 would be a partner that works well with Fletcher. In theory the Rhodes of old would be perfect but personally I think he’s a busted flush. Winnall is another one well suited but has looked very sluggish since his injury. Last season we had Hooper, Joao and Matias as options, but no longer.

Whats Hooper up to these days...???

Dont think he’s set on one system. Has played 4-2-3-1, 4-3-3 and 4-4-2 and different clubs.

If we’ve got a manager who will choose a team based on the squads strengths, rather than shoehorning them into a set formation that’s fine with me.

Don't get hung up over the Monks-Cowl thing.

Totally agree there Hook. It can all be a bit habit forming, and that'd be a total cloisterfuck, FFS lol

Would love to see Rhodes and Fletcher start up front, but don't think it will happen

Wouldn't surprise me if he goes with Fletcher and Rhodes.

Favoured two up top at Brum with Adams and Lukus Jut.

Improved those 2 no end.

I know some have suggested this would be foolish, but it looks like he’s not been picked up by anyone so could it be an option to offer a match by match deal? He is different to any of our other strikers and is a clever player, linking up play really well. In certain games he could still do a job. I understand why we let him go as his injury record was poor, but he was a good player. A pay as you play deal would limit the risk to us.

Maybe he's made enough cash to take a holiday or two, play yet more golf and put his feet up till someone gets desperate then sign for someone.

I'm sure the Free agent window is still open for a while yet.

Fair point, but surely we have to aim higher than Birmingham. Birmingham back then, had better attacking players than we have now
