You can disagree with the OP but why abuse the guy

Grow up

A.  He invited the abuse with shrill declaratives and confrontational responses.

B.  His stance was poorly reasoned and based in conjecture and bias.

Tell me another profession where you would get a job and be paid 20k a week , after being sacked by four of  it’s competitors in the last 5 years for incompetence,  or to put another spin on it show me another company apart from SWFC who would employ someone who has been sacked four times in five years by its competitors , I’ll be surprised if he isn’t being hounded by the fans by Christmas and sacked (again) by the end of the season , UNBELIEVABLE!!!

You know what, you're right. But it's not just swfc, it's the whole of football, it's broken and corrupt.

it's a disgrace

It seems odd DC has taken this long to appoint an out of work manager when he could have started him weeks ago. He seems to have only gone for him in the last 48 hours.

Seems that had we beat QPR (which we should have done) Monk wouldn’t have been appointed...hardly seems a planned, strategic appointment.

People screaming about inaction by DC and when he takes some people moan again. The owlstalk way. :duntmatter:

You're an idiot, and the sad thing is you're probably a wednesday fan.

Look at where the teams he was managing finished. Swansea finished 8th in the prem, right?

At the moment we are mediocre. In fact for the last 23 years we've been mediocre. We are not a traditionally sucessful club. Since I've been alive we've not won a competition.

We need to get behind the players and the manager. If you want constant success our club isn't the right one for you.

I'd rather support a team where the staff and players enjoy working than winning half a dozen competitions

This is bang on . Monks record stands up way past what we have averaged over the last 20 years. Did a good job at Swansea Leeds and Birmingham.  What do people expect Pep or Klopp ?? Well sadly they aint interested. Give the guy a chance and lets see.

OK, it's Monk, let's support him.  Why trash him from the start?  Let him know that Wednesday has a very loyal fanbase, through the bad times and the good times, and that Managers are the first to go after a bad run, maybe  that's why we run through Managers every 2 years or so, for the last ~25 years now, ain't had a good run across the years, for some decades now.

I just hope Monk is of the attacking bent, because the current Wednesday looks so good in the attack mode.  Wednesday loses playing defense, but wins playing offense.

It's just another Season...

Before anyone starts complaining about Monk just think on...............this time last year..............

Image result for jos luhukay

This guy was alienating half the squad and was staring disinterestedly a la this image into the middle distance as our team was being dismantled on a weekly basis.

Yeah I was just thinking the same. Would I take Monk over Carlos, Jos or Bullen? Absolutely yes.

As another poster said, we have been mediocre, or at many times worse than mediocre for a couple of decades. The club has had well publicised issues recently with ffp, the stadium 'sale' and compliance issues.

DC might have had other management targets which would be considered higher profile or more ambitious, but if they knock us back because we're not as attractive a proposition as some fans think we should be - then he has to look elsewhere at managers who aren't first choice.

We could do worse than Monk, and whilst he has had a few clubs and sackings recently, at least he is still young from a more modern era of manager, whilst also having experience in the champ and prem.

Honestly, I would have preferred the Cowleys, but I'm glad we've not got a dinosaur like pulis with outdated tactics and philosophies.

I agree. Think Monk is a step up from Bullen being caretaker but a step down from Bruce.

I wanted someone with Championship experience so the realistic choice after Hughton turned us down was Monk, Pulis or Rowett.

Didnt want Pulis and not much to choose between the other 2.

Instead of negging me , can anyone on here come up with anything positive about a manager who has been in management 5 years and been nowhere near the play offs on any occasion, is that our aim for the next five years ?

Stop slagging me off and look at the facts . We are accepting mediocrity, and we all know where that leads , our club cannot afford ( literally) to carry on like this

so looking at your 'criteria' who would you have appointed?
