I’m glad we’ve hired Monk instead of the Cowleys...

Oh ho ho, but Monk guided Swansea to their highest position ever (8th) in his first full season as gaffer.  More than Laudrup could attain.

But how much of that was down to Laudrup building the team?

Bill Gates and his buddies were ‘unproven’ until they launched Microsoft and people bought into their way of doing things.

Experience v Younger Enthusiasm & drive. Which way do you go? Let’s buckle in and find out............

Where they 11 points clear of 3rd place? Genuine question. I don’t know.

No but when you're 1-0 up at home to wigan and the opposition are down to 10 men and you lose the game knowing that a win will almost guarantee top 2, I'd call that choking.

Just what has Monk achieved as a manager ?.The cowley boys will get promotion again and will manage in the premier.

What like Monk has already done and got an 8th place finish ? That in itself trumps anything the cowleys have done imo .

This forums obsession with Cowley is utterly bizarre, I have never known so much hype for a lower league manager

Think Cowleys are flavour of the month at the moment.

Be interesting to see how they fare when they move on from Lincoln but not convinced they can deal with big ego footballers you get at Championship clubs and above.

I'm coming over to Spain next week, can you clean it a bit before I pick it up please?

I have to confess, I bought a Pierre Cardin one a few years ago that's almost identical, with the added bonus of not having to shift 20kgs to fit into it.lol

I’m there the following week Weshallcomeoversobssuedejacket

Cowleys will be another Nathan Jones at Stoke situation when/if they move to a bigger club

Fact he turned down Huddersfield because he feels safe at Lincoln tells you all you need to know about how confident he is about going to a bigger club

And nah... i ain’t buying none of that ‘job to be done here’  ‘Lincoln is a special club’

Nonsense, there’s no loyalty like that in football these days, you don’t turn chances like Huddersfield down because a few bad results and nobody might come knocking again for them

Back in to 1/5 for the Huddersfield job. Would it really be a surprise if they went there now. Something must have happened for them to rule themselves out but now back as massive favourites. Think they would be a great coup for any Championship club.

You do not turn down a failure payment rich championship club to stay at Lincoln, not in today’s game , absolutely no sense at all in Cowleys decision to turn them down and to me it just screams no ambition and a lack of confidence in been able to do a job at this level

...because the “smallest” club Monk has managed is Swansea. He will have a good grasp of big players’ mentality. The Cowleys were unproven in this aspect.

Totally agree, but strange this post has been met with such approval when 90% of people on here said they wanted them to come.

Well if managing in the Premier League is the ambition, then Monk had already taken charge of nearly 70 games in the Premier League by the time he was 36.

Perhaps they are just trying to get an even better deal from Huddersfield? Personally hope they stay at Lincoln and don’t leave for Huddersfield.
