I believe our fans are more concerned about the fact it taken DC 6 weeks to bring in an out of work manager. Something doesn't sit right and im not buying into this he wanted to see how Bullen did as he knew Bullen's capabilities from his previous spell in charge.

I tend to agree with you but that’s no reason for them to moan about Monk before the team have even kicked a ball for him

The EFL will do what they will do, and DC can fight that one. I'm sure he's prepared and ready. Nando will continue to be targeted by the FA and almost everyone else, for whatever. SAG, Sheffield Council, Johnny Smothermole, and SYP will continue trying to shut us down and generally denigrate everything about us. These external factors are what they are.

So.......................Garry Monk. Not a "whoop-out-loud / party popper / rip your shirt off and run around all belly wobbling like Tango on acid" appointment, but has done well at some clubs and OK at others. His career suggests he needs to stick somewhere for some time to avoid getting a reputation, DC needs to do the same, and we the fans need to accept that we're not suddenly going to start winning 9-0 every week, and anything less means we get to boo and hound him out after 5 games. We need to give him a good chunk of the season to form a view, accept he has FFP constraints to work within, and (importantly) a selection of forwards who aren't exactly lethal in front of goal. In short, he can only work with what he's inherited, work with the money and constraints he's given, and do his best.

Let's give him a fair chance, welcome him to the Wednesday family, and support him when he needs it. Who knows, it could work.

Don't forget that the mighty Brian Clough failed at Leeds due to entrenched views. Whilst it isn't exactly my choice, Monk is now the Wednesday Manager, and as such, deserves our FULL backing. Let us give him time to stamp his own mark on the club and players he has adopted !

We may have wanted someone else, but Monk is the man  appointed, so let's not 'do a newcastle' and grumble about  him before he has chance to show what he can do.

We shall lose games, play crap and bore the pants off fans at times, but let's look forward to improvements. Let's all have pint pots half FULL not half empty. If we back him from the word go, there is a much better chance than if we grumble from day 1

Underwhelmed.

The guys got a bit of alleged baggage with a football agent, upsetting three clubs he managed at. Sounds like a One man Doyen Sports.

He’s now working with a chairman who also has attracted attention to the club’s finances.

Lets hope its worth it.

Perhaps it's because you have never tried to negotiate a move for a manager before other than on FM 2006...despite your obvious football credibility lol

Guest Bulgaria

He might do well, let's hope so, but there is no denying that his appointment is completely underwhelming. Even when we appointed Jos there was a smattering of excitement.

He needs to hit the ground running.
