Swansea

1st season was in Prem with Swansea. Finished 12th. Came in in Feb and got 18 points from 14 games.

2nd season finished 8th with Swansea.

3rd season. Sacked after 12 games with club in 15th.

Leeds

1st season. Finished 7th with mad man Cellino in charge of the club. Leaves for boro in summer.

Middlesbrough

1st season. Sacked after 22 games with team in 8th.

Birmingham.

1st season. Joins 4th March with club in bottom 3. Keeps them up in 19th.

2nd season.

2nd season. Finishes 17th with an average Birmingham side.

If its him back him.

What's he won/achieved/ honours as a manager, we want out of this league and I don't think he's the man to take us up.

Let's be honest....this is essentially us as a club just accepting mid table nothingness.

He's not an awful manager, sure, but he's not going to galvanize the fan base and players and give the whole club a lift.

It's a meh appointment.

Only positive I can think of is that he won't dare do anything dodgy as he is already under investigation for it.

This has all the hallmarks of a typical SWFC situation. If we're 6th/7th in April, what's the odds that Monk get's a lifetime ban from football due to his 'dealings' in the past.

I hope Chansiri has some contractual conditions surrounding the agent concerned.

However, if/when he's announced this afternoon, let's give him a chance and get behind him

Got to agree, very underwhelming,  if he'd been anywhere near first choice he'd have been appointed weeks ago.

With Monk in charge your name now needs to be Jizowl.

If he gets us back to the promised land that could well happen.

I know what you mean by it being a meh appointment but glad its not someone who was good in Spanish 2nd division 3 years ago and never managed in the Championship before.

I'd have been pleased with Monk if we'd have appointed him the week after Bruce left. He's a decent manager at this level.

However, my overriding thoughts are why the fruitcake take 7 weeks to give the job to a bloke who could have started immediately!?

People are bound to be disappointed, because its now abundantly clear that the chairman wasn't spending that time finding just the right man for the job, he was sitting on his hands and hoping Bullen would take away the need for him to make a decision.

Monk can't feel like he was first choice, Bullen probably feels put upon and our new manager is weeks behind the curve... Not sure its been healthy for anyone!

DC can’t really win here

He wanted Hughton who wasn’t interested, he’s tried for Pulis who would have split the fan base in two.

DC was never going to poach another employed manager so the talks of Cowley or early suggestions of Stendal was never going to happen

That leaves with the out of work managers. The two standouts on there are Rowett and Monk. Both know the division and more likely to know the players

Monk took Leeds from nowhere to nearly the play offs. I agree Boro was a shocker but at Birmingham he’s done well with what was going on around him

As for the action against him why all of a sudden is everyone siding with that cap end Gibson?

That is a positive spin; that is accurate.  Shame the information in your OP isn’t accurate.

Pro tip: if you want to discuss the merits of the appointment, know your facts.
