Imagine if Sturrock, Laws and Gray all had the same amount of money to spend as Carlos.

Giving managers money doesn't always guarantee success either, look at Warnock (ok not literally) works far better on a shoestring than when he's got dosh to waste on Gary Madine.

No real issues with King Sturrock, yet Jones seems to get more stick for a similar "failing".

Grey, solid, but a bit boring. Same with meggo.

Enjoy Laws and Carlos the best in terms of how we went about the game. Remember the 3 worldies away at Leicester?!

Jones did a good job getting us promoted. I don't think we would have gone up with Meggo in charge. The only reason we were gutted Megson went was the timing of it just after beating united. If he'd been replaced the week before not many would have been too fussed.

It all went downhill after that for Jones, miserable sod, I was glad to see the back of him. " You don't become a bad football manager overnight". No Dave it took you a few months.

Basically it went downhill as soon as Terry Burton left. Hence why Jones has done knack all since.

There's working with a shoe string and then there's working with net spends of zero.

He was also very successful both immediately before and immediately after Wednesday which tells you a lot more about the state of the club than about Jewell's ability.

He spent what, £6 million getting Wigan out of League 1?!

Ok so he did well at Bradford (then left for some reason) and Wigan.

What about:

Wednesday, Derby & Ipswich? As far as I can tell, he's without a club since resigning as assistant manager of Oldham last year.

He's done well at 2 clubs out of 5. Hardly the definition of successful.
