Why would they come here ,no money, overrated average players and a chairman who don't have a clue

Cowley's will have ambition something this club doesn't have

We do have enough money to make them a life changing offer.. they’ve never played the game professionally, and only just at league one level as managers now. Would imagine they were on less than six figures per year until recently (if not still). Wednesday were paying Bruce £2 million a year, would bet that they’d snap your hand off for 5k a week which is chicken feed to us

I don’t have any particular choice but I’m not questioning your choice in terms of who they are, I’m questioning the criteria that you put for for selecting the manager.

Our criteria should be based around promotion from the Championship.

When did did we start looking good? When Bruce joined us - a manager with promotion from the Championship on his CV.

completely agree mate when bruce told him he wanted control in his short time here he showed what could be done

however the best guy for the job has turned us down

a supposed done deal for rowett has been allegedly rejected by DC

we've been linked with about 6/7 guys all whom been backed into favouritism or so sky bet says

i have been watching the cowleys after a documentary/article  on them  they will imo become the experienced managers you want    in the absence of someone DC wants I'd pick them

3. Points on my mind.

1) would the cowleys want to leave the safety of a little family club and familier surroundings where they can do no wrong for the expectations of Hillsborough??

2) with our ffp situation would Dc take the gamble of paying out a very large sum of compensation for managers not actually tried and tested at this level??

3) I can imagine the conversation.

Cowley. Hey I'd like to introduce myself I'm your new manager.

Nando.. Who are you??

I'm a former PE teacher that managed a div 1 team.

Nando... Oh (shrugs shoulders)

They may be good with lower league players, but players at this level as we know can have some big ego's and self importance.

I'm not sure how some of our players would react to them.

Agreed. I wouldn’t be averse to Cowley but I thought Bruce was a perfect fit from the minute he was appointed and so it seemed to be proving until he buggered off.

Managers of a similar ilk that we might have some chance of getting are Hughton, McCarthy and Allardyce. They’d be my preference.

IMO we need a clear strategy with our appointments and given the current state of the club and the experience of the last 20 years, my strategy would be to get an experienced promotion specialist. Style of play would be secondary for me, for now. Nor would I want a manager learning on the job.

However, Do I get the sense we have a clear strategy for the club at the moment? No, I do not.

This.

Besides, if you have ever met or listened to Danny Cowley, he is not going to let players just walk all over him. No chance.

If players don't respect him and are not willing to play for the team he will get rid of them.

It's not a coincidence he has had success at every club he's been at.

Totally agree bud.

I'd take big mick Mccarthy as main preference, mainly becouse he's no nonsense and the first things he'll bring to the table is organisation and workrate.

Two things we really need at the moment.

Sorry but it’s absolute b*llox to say our players wouldn’t respect the Cowleys as they were PE teachers.  Do people really think that foreigner players had any clue who say the ginger gravel voice Dyche was besides being on EastEnders? No, they respected what the man told them during training etc.

He's clearly been sat quiet hoping the bullen start carried on but it hasnt has it ?

the writing has been on the wall for some time  we are being outplayed by teams we need to be beating to stay up nevermind promotion

my choice now and has been since hughton is the Cowley's

would be a good choice but don't think they would leave Lincoln..

Really not a bad shout, 2 promotions on his CV and about as proven as you can get at this level. Wether or not we could tempt him away from Ireland who knows but definitely worth a mention.

Have a lot  of time for Mick, but I think taking the Ireland job was a bit of a cop out and question his hunger to take on this job.

That’s why long term we need rid of the majority of players like this unless they make a huge contribution.

Look at the other side of the city has done with a good manager, hard work and the right attitude. Villa also got shut of that element at the club.

Get a manager in that won’t stand for big egos a lacklustre effort and performances. Give them a little time to build something.
