So it would mean losing him for 6 months at least for a potential zero gain.. Only zero gain if we don’t manage to replace with better, which you’d assume would at least be the intention. Even replacing like for like would be a net loss if we leave it until summer and he goes for free meaning we’ve payed his wages and missed out on a fee. Not simple really. Blatter
Typical Owlstalk, last week everyone wanted him gone. Now it seems we can’t do without him. Considering the abuse he gets can’t believe he wants to stay.

Not 100% sure but when he went to Accrington the other year I’m sure he was the LB. Thorniley’s problem is he is under 6ft, and for a CB a lot managers will have reservations. For me the lad looks like he could play LB easily.

swafty
Palmer, thornily and reach can play there, need to be fair to him after the crap hes had and let him go.
Costello 77
Also..the ludicrous notion of putting Reach there and taking him away from offense needs knocking on the head..

Leaving Reach and Thorniley... A very worrying prospect IMO. Still at least we'd be rid of Fox and that's the main thing...
jonnyowl
Boo boys won that one then! Don't see why we would get rid, our only natural left back and more than good enough as a back up! Unless he doesn't want to be a backup!

Reach can’t play there, he’s looked awful at left back in the past for us. In fact didn’t he play there when the pigs battered us at Hillsborough a couple of seasons ago? To be honest , if Fox goes and Odubajo gets dropped it could be very bad news for Palmer. I mean, with Nuhiu not starting games and Pelupessy out of the picture he'd revert to number one target of the grumbles even though he's playing well.
