Exactly.

In a squad which includes Lee, Bannan, Hutchinson and Luongo, Reach should be nothing more than a backup central midfielder, but he's a very good winger at this level, and should be rotated with Harris, Murphy and Forestieri over the course of the season.

We're still talking about a player who's been ever-present in an injury-ravaged squad over the past two seasons, notching 12 league goals and 18 assists along the way.

Played in his natural position, he's one of our best players.

Exactly. Clueless in CM, but as a winger he's a very decent option. With 3 wingers for 2 positions, he'll definately get enough game time there over the season.

Silly decision from Bully to play him CM. Luongo would be a much better option.

Reach doesn't do that either

Not looking for him to be a Hutch but do expect him to challenge for a 50/50. Not jump out the way and allow the opposites to break away.

.

There’s more than one way to be brave on a football field.

He carried us after Carlos went, whilst other players were hiding in plain sight. I watched them - never showing for the ball, tucking themselves away, just enough effort to get by. He was often the only player on the pitch willing to risk anything.

Its just not his game, but the lad is no coward.

But you carry on, I bet you still think you look good in flares and have a nice curly perm.

Agree 100%

Today proved exactly why he should never be in the middle, sensational cross for the goal.

Honestly can't get my head around him playing Reach there instead of Luongo.

We haven’t got 11 better players than Reach. Should never have been dropped.

Murphy, who he replaced, certainly didn’t do himself any favours today, but then again who did in the starting 11? Great cross from Reach for the goal. How effective would he have been from the start - who knows?

How many tackles does Barry Bannan win in a game?

When was the last time he played left back or right back?

Last week when Bullen went mad against 10 men.

He actually did well, got forward and it’s to his credit.

Westwood

Iorfa

Lees

Boerner

Fox

Reach

Bannan

Hutchinson

Harris

Fletcher

FF

Subs:

Dawson

Nuhiu

Rhodes

Winnall

Lee

Luongo

Murphy

With Lee, Hutch and Reach in the squad I don’t think we need a defender on the bench

That would by my side for the next league game

It was a ridiculous decision to play Murphy instead of Reach yesterday. And it’s not hindsight, I said so in the matchday thread yesterday morning.

As expected we were outnumbered and totally outplayed in midfield while having two out and out wingers who didn’t get any ball .

I have no idea how Bullen expected us to win the game but to be fair although we were awful they wouldn’t have scored without the stupid pens

100% better out wide and that’s where he should start against qpr

Harris one side

reach the other

I'd put Murphy or even Harris further forward and more central to help Fletcher to give Reach the wing place

Exactly, i bet if you asked Fletcher who he'd like supplying the crosses in i bet Reach would be his first choice, a strikers dream crosses like that.

I have long said that a lot of Wednesday fans wouldn't recognise a good player if he slapped them in the face.

Adam Reach is one of those where a subset just don't seem to get what he provides the team.

I don't think there's anything wrong with dropping him tbh.  It shows players that their place is not a god given right.

Not warranted if he's pulled from pillar to post.

Might as well try him as goalkeeper...

Lee played 3 positions yesterday before coming off and nothing worked until as usual they start attacking late on, they need to get the ball down and play football

Well I’ve thought a bit about that and I don’t know. I do know that he certainly wouldn’t have him anywhere near central midfield.
