Palmer or Fox

I’m sure that the opposing right winger would be petrified when he came up against the snarling beastly take no prisoners shin thumping Reach.... he might even refuse to take the field when he found out that he was on a b line to destruction with that wrecking ball Reach.

Strange thing is I agree with you ...but he gets more involved at left back than he does in central midfield where he tackles like a tart in high heels, he has been out of sorts this season but I think he is too good to leave out , can see him linking very well with Harris and he has got a great engine and cross I think if we had a specialist left back then fair enough but we haven’t

 Noted.

If he is going to slot in at left back then he would definitely have to ditch the Alice Band.

Palmer is the best full back we have, left or right. Fox did OK the other night, whereas Odubajo was again, less than convincing at right back. Palmer and Fox for me

You may have a point but it also indicates that we have not strengthened the 2 positions that have been under the spotlight for the past few years.

Palmer or Fox?

Can we have lazaar back?

just listening to Bullen presso.

He making Preston out to be world beaters.

It was Millwall last week.

Technically speaking Millwall beat us with 10 men. So he has every right not to take a better team in Preston lightly.

Yeah, probably agree with that, though Palmer’s emergence as a very good Championship full back, on both flanks, probably made it less of a priority. As did the decision to operate with two out and out wingers, who basically need the guys behind them to be better defensively, and perhaps not quite so attack minded.

edit.    can I add, that I am not dismissing the value of Odubajo, or Iorfa, both are capable and wouldn’t let anyone down if needed.

Don't be daft, Reach is the worst fullback we have, I'd sooner play Bannan there.

Now i'll be negged to hell for this thought, but I always wondered if Bannan would be good as a left wing back, with three centre halfs.

I'm not advocating it with our current personnel, but I think with his left peg and tenacity, he'd be the mutts nutts in that position.   He definitely has the motor to move up and down that wing with ease, both defensively and offensively and swiftly too.

Edit:  Thankfully I am not picking the team or formation, but in any formation I would choose, that's the only position Bannan would get into as he doesn't fit a midfield two, and doesn't really fit a wide left midfield.

He is however so wired he would just run up and down that left wing at a whim and with ease.

Disagree our defence looks miles stronger with Fox as out of the 2 he is a far better defender. As has been said this is one area of huge concern for the team

That my friend is absolute nonsense! Palmer is now a very solid full back.

Neither for me,both are poor players. Neither would get into big Ron’s promotion team nor Wilkos team. We need better.

Pointless observation really. When Wednesday won promotion under big Ron, Palmer was a few months old and Fox was under 2 years old.

Happy with either.

Palmer much better all round footballer but Fox the better defender.

That’s a slight contradiction tbh

So if Palmer is the all round better defender, but Fox is better at defending, then what exactly is Palmer better than fox at? Given they’re both you know....defenders

Hmm.

I can see by the wording here that someone wants an argument.

I like them both I'll leave it at that.

Who hurt you

Well I've had a few ding dongs with people on here who don't like Palmer and it just goes round in circles..

I think Palmer has won over many fans now with his performances so he doesn't need me to win arguments about how good he is. He demonstrates it on the pitch.

It’s been lovely to see him mature into a proper full back. He really looks the real deal these days. Reminds me of a championship Kyle Walker

I guess.

A tad slower than Kyle. He's a serious sprinter.
