When we heard he was going I remember us sadly singing along to the tune of "Rawhide".....

"Roland, Roland, Roland,

Roland, Roland, Roland, Nilssssonnnnn,

The Wednesdayites are grieving, 'cos Roland Nilsson's leaving,

He's going back to Sweden, Rollllannnnd....

....Roland, Roland, Roland,

Roland, Roland, Roland, Nilssssonnnnn,

Well it would be a yes from me.

Although he's foreign. He speaks language, he's plenty of experience, knows English football.

Has managed Swedens u21 sides.

Will have loads of Scandinavian contacts and hopefully a few still over here from his playing days.

I like the fact "he speaks language" - in that case it's a yes from me lol

Never saw him play.  Cv looks average to poor. No thanks.

Despite this his CV doesn't suggest he should be anywhere near the job.

Winning the Swedish league, and being on the way to the Danish title before being sacked by a mad-as-fizz owner is "average"?

I move a lot of concrete on the QVC.

I have read the original article in The Athletic. It’s an interview to mark the 25th year since he left Wednesday.

In in terms of managing the club it came across as a casual question and response. Would you like to manage Wednesday?

I’d love to one day but I’m enjoying my current job.

Interesting interview. It states that when he was looking at returning to England as a player that he wanted to join Wednesday, but couldn’t agree things with Pleat.

Both those achievements were a long time ago and the Swedish and Danish leagues are very different to English football in so many ways. If he hadn't played for us once not a single person would be suggesting him.
