s.kirkbyowl
I'm in that picture somewhere in the middle, Uraguay had two payers sent off as I recall. By todays standards they could all have been sent off ! Brutal match Beckenbaur was immense, was number 5 but was a midfield centre half.

Germans won 4-0 am I correct in thinking that the guy putting the attempt in at stopping the ball was at that time hailed as being up there with lev yashin as one of the world's top keepers. Leaping Lannys Perm
In the top right hand corner there appears to be a building with a similar central gable to the South Stand. Appears to sit in the space between the Kop and the South as it would have been then. It could just be the houses on Penostone Road but appears from that perspective to be on the near side of the Don. Any idea what it was?
dorian gray
never realised it until now that the germans played their games in a city only just over 2 decades earlier they had extensively bombed.
