Team v Luton

Recommended Posts

This could be a feisty thread.

Lets have your Xl and your subs, seeing as how there has been much said about our bench v Millwall.

Westwood

Odubajo Lees Borner Palmer

Forestieri Bannan Hutchinson Reach Harris

Rhodes

  • Iorfa didn’t do enough to take the shirt off Odubajo
  • Lee shouldn’t play Sat Tues Sat yet
  • Surely FF must start unless he’s blotted his copybook with Bully
  • and the big ? Rhodes v Fletch? Not worth risking Fletcher’s season for one game.

Subs

Dawson

Iorfa

Fletcher

Murphy

Luongo

Lee

Murphy in for FF and I would go with that.

There is no room for sentiment in Football and Pace win's every time.

All we are missing now is out & out pace up front.

My pick was nothing to do with sentiment. I am not a cheerleader for FF.

Harris is undroppable and if the medics think he is up to Tues and Saturday he must play.

Murphy wasn’t great yesterday.

Reach or FF should play wide. Murphy is the one to take the bench. He will get on Im sure.

If we revert back to the tried and tried and tried and tried and failed use of FF as a central forward I despair.

We’ve 6 points from two aways and a home, playing a very balanced and very attacking 433. I totally understand your love for FF, and 433 is made for him.

This formation allows the wingers to get crosses on the box for Fletcher.

It's gives Nando the freedom to roam, which is what was needed yesterday. This allows him to go wide or down the middle, as long as it's high up the pitch.

Back 5 explains itself and with regards to midfield, one (or two) of the big boys needs to get dropped to get the balance right.

on paper the team looks good, shame it'll be played on grass, I see luton as our biggest test so far.

A few years ago on here I mis-posted that as “Football isn’t played on grass. It’s played on paper”.

Though TBF it was in 15/16 so we were still playing on mud then.

Well, Nando central has failed us for seasons. I hope we never see it again. Wasted outstanding talent if we do.

I was in the north for the Wycombe game, some people I knew were in the sarf, and I decided to go look for them after the game. crossing the field at the western end just outside the edge of the 18 yard box I was shocked and appalled how uneven the pitch was.

If Fletcher is to be rested.. I don't see what we've got to lose by giving Winnall a go..btw I expect the same from Luton as got from Millwall so FF must be considered for the bench at least..

Do you think Winnall looks like a lone central striker?

I don’t think he offers even as much as Rhodes.

I would try Rhodes. Then I would try Nuhiu. Then I would consider 442.

Freshen up:

Westwood

Odubajo iorfa Borner reach

                     Hutch

  Harris bannan luongo ff

                     Rhodes

Iorfa cb for pace to push up,

Lees missed header and poor passing

At milwall

Left inside forward needs more support

from a left footed overlapping lb imo

Bring lee on for hutch, murphy for ff

Attack from ko

Maybe.. until he's given a proper chance we're guessing.. it's not like he's replacing a goal a game merchant..
