WC1Owl
If the thinking is that the curent team is doing well, it would make sense to appoint them, and fill in behind Thompson at junior level. There's an argument that it's to early to be confident in a move like that. For me, waiting and seeing for now remains the most sensible option. Tell the current team they're in charge until further notice and play it by ear.
ShaunO1
It would be good if we could get a structure like Watfords where the manager is always replaceable. Stops us getting in a situation like with Bruce again.

Swiss Toni
I personally wouldn't give it him full time just yet based on results so far. It appears we have a bit of time on our hands so I'd like to see how he handles a bad result or two. Hope he has the answers but in the past when he's had bad results a new manager has come in whether that be Luhukay or Bruce so we haven't seen him under too much pressure yet. Yeah, I agree, hang on and see what happens, and what the reaction is when we haven't won the first two games, and instead lost a couple (but we're aiming to lose none!) FreshOwl
Don’t forget how Bullen feels in all this. Kept in the job until he slips up. I don’t think he’d accept the possibility of that. Something will have to happen sooner rather than later re a decision

Maybe they could agree a deadline of eg the first international break.

Many clubs even at Championship level are going down this route. If we were to go down the DoF route then I’d like to see Brian Laws in the role. He still clearly has an affection for the club and has bans of experience and great connections.

Miguel Llera and Reda Johnson. I think Llera has coaching badges and has worked for the club in a coaching capacity before. Reda.....not sure about coaching badges but Reda is Reda. Inspirational motivator if one was needed. Do you not think we should maybe set our standards a little higher than this? If that’s what his CV consists of then his application should be laughed all the way to the waste bin really. No offence to the guy.

I think he still has ties to Sheffield as I've seen him in town a couple of times in the last 12 months or so, I've spoken to him aswell in the past since he left Wednesday and he still holds the club in high regard, he was also in attendance at a friends funeral ( Steve Fairbank) along with Paul Sturrock. Why has nobody mentioned Sturrock. I know his health issues have prevented him managing but as an assistant or adviser he'd be a great shout surely? beloved_aunt
Thompson is de facto Assistant Manager and I imagine would get the job permanently as and when Bullen does. Then you’ve got Strudwick (Fitness) and Weaver (Goalkeeping). So so that’s four first team coaches considering Bullen is a training ground coach not just a manager who turns up twice a week like Dave Jones/Martin O’Neil. Seems enough but if we were to supplement it I think the area missing is a specialist forward coach to help with finishing etc. My suggestion would be Andy Cole who did that job for Macclesfield last season and apparently did a great job in improving finishing and goals scored as they pulled off a great escape. chrisf
I'd give it to Steve Bruce once he gets his P45 in October. Then put him in charge of collecting bibs and balls.
