Bill Kenwright wanted him last time. Their foreign owner said no, not big enough name. His stock had grown massively since then. Now getting PL wins.

Could end up back in the championship too soon.

There isn't a better time for Wilder to go.

No way will he leave this season. Think many are underestimating the appeal of managing your boyhood club. Why would he give that up for a club like Everton who always seem 10 months away from sacking a a manger?

I suppose the question for him is could he do it elsewhere? It's all well and good playing the underdog; backs to the wall for a few seasons, but surely he must think, I'll like to see if I could win something - not that Everton are likely to win owt soon...

he as done at every club and every level he’s managed so I would say yes he could make the next step. Better than Moyse and Big Sam without question imo

Keep playing and getting results like that and it won’t be long until arsenal are looking for a new manager.

Arsenal fans slated Wenger for years.

He was past his best, not good enough.

Perhaps that was true, but the man still delivered Champions League football on a regular basis and won them three FA cups whilst the likes of Liverpool, Spurs etc., won nothing.

The problems from the latter years of the Wenger era remain, but they have in fact got worse under Emery.

Said it before kick off that the team was less than inspiring. A disjointed mess with no plan.

Doubling his wages will be a start.

The fact his best mate and safety net McCabe has gone too won't help him.

The fact that Emery refuses to give Ozil a chance, when in fairness he's their best player, is madness. Apparently he doesn't get on with Bellerin either who in fairness is much better option than Callum Chambers, awful player who I even remember Joao gave a torrid time in the cup match.

Just think of the players they've had in the past and now Granit Xhaka is captain of that same club....

I just don't see everton going for Wilder even if they could get him.

Everton don't need a Warnock , Bruce or Wilder. They need to get the club sorted financially and get a manager who can deliver top 6 , that needs to be a European level manager not a promotion specialist.

Everton aren't a top 6 club yet, not by far.

Be s perfect opportunity for Wolder to grow on a personal development scale (he could still ***** about a more successful rival too) and perfect for Everton to take a chance on an up and coming manager, who if it works out is great but if it doesn't is cheap enough to say no big loss

If offered, he goes.

The reality is that if any manager wants to fulfil his ambitions, he's unlikely to ever do it in Sheffield.

The problem for Wilder is knowing when to jump.

Ultimately, he's a hostage to United's board, and that's not a good place to be.

No manager can keep pulling rabbits out of hats forever, not even Wilder.

United are new to the division, an unknown quantity, but familiarity in the end breeds defeat and relegation.

Everton would be the sort of club I think he'd be interested in.

Not too far away, and not averse to giving British managers a go.

The Toffees are a much bigger club than United, and consistently play in the top level.

He'd turn them around, no trouble.

My sister’s husband who is a lifelong United fan rang me after tonight’s game and was giving it out how proud he was tonight. He’s nearly as old as me and a decent enough bloke so I couldn’t begrudge him a bit of happiness at his time of life. One thing did come up in the conversation that I hadn’t considered before was that the fans of all the teams they’ve played seemed to think it was the worst they’d played all season. On reflection there’s got to be more to them than meets the eye but I’m not sure what it is. It can’t be all about work-rate at that level can it surely?

I do believe a lot of it is down to their attitude and application. As I said earlier, a lot of PL sides just seem happy to float along. United have come up and are going for it, and when you face a spineless side like Arsenal tonight it’s not hard to make them look pathetic.

The kind of game Arsenal never fancy, cold weekday north of Watford to a full blooded 100% effort team.

Think Wilder would have identified this as a likely win when the fixtures came out.

Nothing really to see here, just Arsenal being Arsenal.
