I don’t get it. What’s new that hasn’t been identified for decades of using that forecourt to enter/exit? I’ve been leaving via LL for 20 years. I can’t remember any serious issues, apart from the odd scuffle and funnily enough when SYP decided to narrow the exit on Leppings Lane bridge with buses and horses - that’s the only scary experience I’ve had, which could have been avoided by better planning (and perhaps less aggression towards football fans).

There were plenty of problems at the Lane last season. First trying to get into the ground, we were restricted to one pair of turnstiles, which caused chaos and left us vulnerable to the porkies throwing missiles at us. Leaving the ground a line of cops directed us towards the city, which was not where I wanted to go having come by train.

Bramhall Lane was the worst ground I visited over the past two seasons.

Whooshed I'm afraid.

Exactly. Been like that since Adam was a lad. 7,000 away fans leaving alongside North Stand home fans.

Obvs since those days we’ve had some Neanderthal elements moving to North to shout at the away fans all game.......

SYP are often involved when we play Leeds away also. About 3 years ago, myself and my brother were part of a ridiculous police escort that took us an hour to get to the station. We were dragged into it for no apparent reason, other than being amongst other Wednesday fans. They tried to shunt everybody onto a direct train to Sheffield, obviously presuming that everyone who was there was heading back that way. Had to plead with officers to let us out so we could get the train back to Castleford, "No, you'll go with everyone else". We live local ffs! Simple-minded twits.

I had that at Donny away a few years ago. Arrived in Doncaster fairly early with the intention of meeting friends going for drinks and having food. Instead we were, along with about 100 other Wednesday fans, kettled by police escort. Not allowed in any local pub, restaurant, facilities etc. Marched straight to the ground and told to go inside. Apparently for our own safety.

How is people exiting the North Stand via the Kop and walking up Veres Road to Leppings Lane any safer than people exiting the North Stand via Leppings Lane?

I’d have thought less exit points would have been less safe, and ultimately those who need to be towards the Leppings Lane will end up there with away supporters anyway.

Organisations justifying their fees...

And there you have it. What you’ve done is actually look at the consequences of the proposed action something SYP have consistently shown an ability to do. There will be huge issues getting three sides of the ground out onto one road. This will lead to crushing as the stands were not designed to empty this way. This will lead to frustration and tension which when the fans finally merge ( which they still will) may lead to worse problems that the ones they were trying to stop. I’ve been in these sort of meetings and read these sort of reports in my previous career. They were always done by people with very little understanding of football, fans and stadia. There experience was usually based on having watched green street. How the hell is this going to work when we are back in the prem

We crossed the police line (accidentally) twice at the Stain. Ended up in the middle of their fans but luckily no colours on. Then afterwards marched straight in to an ambush with fireworks thrown at us.

SAG will not rest until we move to a new stadium I'm afraid.

Two questions to SAG.

1. As this will result in 20,000 people exiting all within a few minutes into the main thoroughfares that is Penistone Rd. Do you consider this a safe course of action?

2. If a spectator exits the North Stand and walks peaceably around the ground via Vere Rd, will he or she be denied entry into Leppings Lane.

Serving a prohibition notice of this type at such short notice is very likely to cause more problems than it solves.

Such action needs proper notice to be given to allow the necessary information to be given to fans.

I for one will never forgive/forget the way SYP Weighed into Wednesday fans with batons as I tried to exit the North into Leppings Lane after the last United Derby. I hope they do not resort to such tactics ever again.

Football fans are the most discriminated against group in the country. I know there are some idiots but to stop the 99% of  decent ordinary fans going anywhere they want and about their lawful innocent business is disgraceful. And using the trite phrase "public safety is of paramount importance" to justify anything is absurd. Of course it is, but there are risks in life. The logical conclusion to this nonsense is to ban all cars in case of an accident, etcetera etcetara

WHY, WHY, WHY has this only surfaced two days before the first home game of the season?

Surely there was time during the close season for some sensible solution to be reached

Come to think of it, SAG, SYP, and sensibility don't necessarily go together.

I thought that we appointed someone last year with the task of sitting down with the Advisory Group and going through the stadium, stand by stand, looking at ways that we could get back up to full capacity. Not that we sell out often, but there are games every season which create a larger demand for tickets and its a shame that we seem to be losing almost a quarter of the stadium capacity.

We did his comment at one the steering group meetings was that he'd worked in stadiums up and down the country and had never encountered a SAG like the one in Sheffield,

You can't polish a turd, time for a relocation to a purpose built stadium (Please Mr Chansiri) If and when we reach the PL it will be mayhem when the away team are only given a limited number of tickets and there is more empty seats than not,

Ridiculous comment, we have to relocate and spend 100s of millions on a new stadium because SYP are not fit for purpose, Re style, redevelop but never relocate
