SiJ 47,473
Isn't Luongo contracted to QPR? Might struggle with the "free" bit...
The Night-Owl 6,068
If true, that would be decent business. Would Murphy be on loan? Need to utilise the loan market.
MarkS43Owl 516
Luongo is a very good player, but similar to Hutch and in a way Pelupessy. Certainly an upgrade on the latter.

steelowl 12,576
Newcastle ? IF true is this some barter /compo deal ?
striker 7,018
Two areas of weakness in our team where we need strength in depth. Luongo fits the profile of free transfer signing, 26, with experience and minimal risk. Surprised we would do business with Newcastle, but Murphy would be a good signing. I do like our business this summer, we've done well in the free transfer market, while at last bringing in transfer fees for outgoing players.
Buxtongent 2,689
Anyone realise that, if we sign all the players we have been 'looking to sign', we shall finish with a squad of 50+
StudentOwl 17,072
News piece released 22 hours ago confirming he's leaving QPR on a free... but to a "mystery Championship club". I guess that's us then https://theworldgame.sbs.com.au/luongo-seals-mystery-deal-to-beat-transfer-deadline

Ellis Rimmer 5,643
Nice, Luongo was highly rated a couple of years ago and QPR got him

Agree with that which is why i'm concerned about paying millions we haven't got for Hector.

I see your point, but I think Hector is the exception. If the fee ends up being the £3.5 - 4m reported rather than £5m I think it's still a good deal.
