Guest Ash76
Maintained all summer it wouldn’t happen and knew we’d have alternatives. Chelsea cut their noses off, sure we’ll be talking with him in January. Got to feel for him stuck in U23’s and this is why clubs should not be allowed to stockpile players

Is that a season training with the kids then? Could get loaned out abroad, I suppose He'd be a lot cheaper in January
evaD
Hector needed force a loan move through, until January at least, knowing no one was going to meet the valuation. Disappointing really.
SupremeOwl
You can't blame the club for pulling out of this. Paying 5 mill for a player with one year left on his contract and having never played for his respective club in 5 years is something we would've done 2 or 3 years ago. StudentOwl
Shame we're not getting him, on a personal level a bit gutted. But pragmatically speaking that gives us a couple of million extra to play with in January, and his value is only going to decrease if it turns out Chelsea haven't offloaded him in the final minutes of the window. Beauchief Owl
Feel sorry for Hector, he could go to a continental club however as the deadline there is the end of the month. Really disappointed we couldn't come to some sort of agreement but overall an impressive transfer window for us IMO. DC seems to be learning, at last. Quist
I think we were right not to get ripped off. I feel a bit sorry for Hector as he made good impression last season and obviously fits in well with the players we have. Obviously out of ours and Hectors hands. We raised Hector's value last season and they wanted us to pay for that now they are back to square one.
Lomas613
Still squad number 34 available?? Got everything crossed he’s one Of them deals we are waiting to hear from Edited August 8, 2019 by Lomas613

Its a sticky wicket and they should throw in the towel.

Bluesteel
Also shows how little the money actually means to Chelsea really given that not accepting a reduced amount has pretty much cost them most of if not all of any fee. Hector May also have his eye on a big bosman deal for himself next year. Skeptical he’s as desperate to move here as some make out. The fan clamour can be counter productive as we’ve seen in the past. Edited August 8, 2019 by Bluesteel
TheEnchanter
Just now, wilyfox said: Did Hector move elsewhere or is he on his arse until January? Well he can move to pretty much any league in the world except the Prem and Championship. And in Jan we can negotiate a pre contract agreement hopefully. NeonLeon
Hopefully he gets a move before the window shuts for everyone else. Be a shame to see him rot, even if it’s just until the New Year. Going abroad again might be a tough call now he’s got a young ‘un though!
Athelwulf
Chewsea put that price on his head because some of that cash will go to Reading. So if you think a player is worth £3 million, and there's a 25% sell on fee then you charge £4 mil.

Let's see where we are in Jan. If we're midtable mediocre, we might as well try to have him sign a contract for next season and use the money for that. bigdan2003
Flippin hate Chelsea / PL clubs that do this sort of thing. What is the point in paying the lad go to the training ground every day. They stock pile players with zero flips given. 5 million quid t*ssers

Junglejay
I'd guess for his own sake, Hector has to get himself out on loan to a club in Europe to at least play some football.
