Michael Hector.

Or its a loan fee of £3m for example, with the agreement it becomes permanent next summer on a free, Chelsea essentially pocket a "transfer fee" now and don't have to pay Reading anything next summer. Everyone's a winner, well, except Reading.

Seems to be a bit of a pointless arm wrestle by Chelsea.

Can only assume they are holding our for as long as possible, hoping someone is gonna come in with a better bid that what we've offered.
Although, Hector could/would probably refuse that, knowing full well he wants to be at Hillsboro..

AND, if the twitter post is true, we have agreed a loan deal (hopefully season-long), then Hector can sign a pre-contract with us get him for free..

'Get him for free' is a nonsense MH would want a little more than a box of chocolates should he sign for free.

But why would we offer them more than the agreed loan deal, when a loan deal would effectively make him our player? I would also have thought the loan deal would be more expensive than that for this very reason. More like £2-2.5m

A loan deal would make him our player for a season. Then he’s whoever he chooses next summer...

Would be on par with what Leicester did with us over Hirst (well not quite, but still in bad faith). I’d rather we did our business with integrity.

If that Sazio account is legit then Kenedy is a very good signing for Reading

The signings Reading have been making it looks a good thing they were our first game, going be a completely different team now and a much harder team to beat.

Glad we don;t appear to have been dry bummed on this one

Agree. We've had enough of that over the years. Finally, in DC it looks like that's a thing of the past. As much as I'd love Hector, we can't be bullied by the PL teams. The attitude of the big clubs stinks and its about time they realised there's a lot more to English football than the Premier League.
