Joao to Reading is close according to Dom

None of our remaining strikers have the talent & technical ability that Joao possesses.

Antonio used to receive the same stick about his work rate (some of it justified on both accounts) and we all know how that ended up.

5m-7m is a great price for reading imo.

See, I don't disagree with a lot of that, but are we just supposed to keep him in the hope that he's going to finally come good on a consistent basis?

IMO we've been doing that with the boy since he's been here; when he was 22 that potential was absolutely enough to justify that, but at nearly 26 and his head in the clouds half the time, eventually it's got to be time to change tact, particularly considering our current financial situation.

True but don’t think joao will end up like Antonio but we will see , at this moment 6million is a good fee

The reason being Antonio was a trier. Carried intent onto the field and would have played for England if not injured. Joao looks disinterested most of the time and if he leaves for Reading his career is heading downward. Portugal caps seem like a different century.

So Football insider were on the money https://www.footballinsider247.com/reading-open-talks-to-sign-sheffield-wednesday-attacker/

will be keeping my eye on them from now on

Pete o Rourke also writes for them. He's very rarely wrong. He called the Houghton not interested over a week ago. Worth a follow. Everyone also writes off HITC, he also gives them the odd scoop, so whilst they are not always right they do call certain ones right. If he retweets what they have wrote then chances are it may well happen. Like everything, some journalists are spot on, some just fill column inches

Will probably do well at Reading and if he's played regularly then he most likely will. One of the reasons he hasn't been consistent here is because of the glut of striker options, we've always made a change when he has an off day rather than give the lad a decent run in the team and play him through a dip in form? As a result he's never developed a rhythm.

Get rid of the Kosovan Donkey and Winnall and keep JOwl

If Rhodes and Joao are leaving, I bet Winnall would be buzzing. Unless he’s leaving too.

Actually how typical of Wednesday would it be to go from having too many strikers to not enough strikers by the end of the window.

lol

Not surprising at all

Hoping there is a sell on clause. Because you know Joao will be a success soon as he gets to Reading and his value will sky rocket. The law of the Wednesday!!!

Only if we were stupid and didnt put any clauses in

Personally think we have got a good deal if the fee is between £5m to £7m.

He's got all the attributes and potential but after 4 years he should be producing!

Let's use this money to go get Hector, a winger and maybe a midfielder!
