Well this is the problem. We’ve got a lot of players here on good money. But I do believe we do have saleable assets - Forestieri, Joao, Reach and Bannan would all attract interest from other clubs.

You maybe right but can only see Reach fetching in decent money.  Bannan and FF around 3million and Joao similar.plus Rhodes 3 million. If we sell for those figures how would we replace them. For some reason nobody seems willing to pay top dollar to us . While clubs like Brentford seem to be able to ask what they want. In 45 years of watching the Owls we never seem to have got true value for anyone.

Not confident they will put a statement out at this stage when it’s gone on forever and nobody’s said a whisper

Huge supporter of the Chairman, but the lack of communication about this stupid embargo is really poor form

I don’t understand at all why a statement cannot be put out just to say where we are at, the EFL’s stance of no comment bewilders me aswell ... why on earth would you not be prepared to talk about a rule you imposed

To quote the former PM "Nothing has changed!  nothing has changed ! Nothing has changed ! nothing has changed". Update expected soon !

What a bunch of absolute jokers the EFL

are

Club can’t comment because it’s in the hands of the EFL

EFL ..... we have no indication of timescale and no comment to make

wonderfully insightful for the fans

As per Royal D’s post.....insightful story by The Star. An unnamed EFL person said they can’t say anything and neither can the club = made up page filler

https://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/football/sheffield-wednesday/latest-owls-news/efl-tight-lipped-over-sheffield-wednesday-soft-transfer-embargo-486002

Speaking to The Star this morning, an EFL spokesperson said they were unable to comment on ongoing rulings and refused to give an indication of how long it could take for Wednesday’s embargo to be lifted. Sheffield Wednesday have also maintained that they are unable to comment – because the issue is in the hands of the EFL.

Not even sure it’s made up to fill the pages

The EFL’s ‘no comment by anyone’ stance is suspected by quite a few people

it really is an absolute disgrace from them

I thought over the weekend that we would see some clarity this week on compo / FFP / Manager........................still nothing, with the new season just 10 days away.

It's only Tuesday dinnertime. Plenty of the week left.

(I'm not saying anything is going to happen)

Another poo summer, no manager, embargoed again and the season only a week or so away.

Now the accounts are in, maybe DC should get his lawyers to have a look at a restraint of trade complaint against the EFL.

The clocks ticking, transfer window shuts early and EFL deliberately stopping us from recruiting a competitive squad.

No sure we don't have a competitive squad though...

Sure we don't have Michael Hector. But we do have Borner providing cover.
Yes we don't have Hooper. But he get's injured so much, on balance we probably made the right decision. Rhodes is back, and for the first time he's getting on the SWFC scoresheet regularly. Here's hoping.

Apart from that, we've let go of Boyd, Jones, Abdi, Pudil and Matias. Matias is the biggest miss out of that lot - and that's saying something. We've got Harris & Odubajo in. Happy with that.

We've done pretty well so far considering we've only been allowed free transfers. I don't feel we're a weaker side than last season. 'Course it'd be great to kick on and add more quality into the side - especially in midfield.

Yep,  not really sure how to be confident for the upcoming season when we’re essentially been strangled by the EFL and absolutely no indication there going to be happy anytime soon

Who’s to even say they will be happy in January ? Embargo and points deduction like Birmingham seems plausible to me if there gonna give us zero indication on what position we’re at currently

West Brom have just bought Kenneth Zahore from Cardiff for 8 million....... DC has got his pricing bang on based on current market value!

i agree in the sense that the market is crazy and as such our apparently crazy valuations aren't therefore

we've seen many game changes in transfers madine at 6m was a doozy

If clubs know we need £££ to get this bunch of no marks and jokers off our backs do you really think there gonna pay the market price for any of our players

We've not got players on sensible wages that anyone wants.

They have younger players on the up, rather than older expensive players at or past, their peak.

It's not exactly rocket science.
