Why do a lot of people think...

...that these protracted legal wranglings with Newcastle are having a detrimental affect on our recruitment?

We are a massive football club with a huge staff, including hired lawyers and recruitment specialists.  It is quite possible to spin more than two plates at once!  Companies do it every day.  We all do it every day.

Is this tongue in cheek?

Who’s replaced Aldridge, the guy from Russia that went to Wimbledon, Katrien Meire.  Who’s doing these jobs now?

We got the scout from Villa, who’s probably now at Newcastle.

We’ve basically got DC, a fitness trainer, and a guy who puts cones out.

I could think of a couple of reasons it's an unwanted distraction on recruitment, for the sake of argument of course.

1 - Whilst it appears we have been harshly done by, the harder we make this for Bruce and Newcastle and the higher profile it gets, the more prospective managers might speculate on what they're walking into. It will likely have an effect on their budget too.

2 - This bulldog spirit from DC is admirable but it also demonstrates that he doesn't take any prisoners, at best. Worst case is if he has got his facts wrong about the legality of the Bruce move. Being honest, ironically the only thing he's truly got right from a business point of view was employing Bruce in the 1st place. Think exec boxes, Doyen, delayed shirts, embargoes etc etc. It would not be a shock if our legal team were found wanting too.

Not having a pop at DC, I'd just like him to make sure A) we have our facts straight about what has gone off with the Bruce transfer and B) It is worth pursuing on balance, i.e. What's the point in focusing our attention on winning a court case if we stand to make half a million in a years time. In that case it would be better biting your lip and putting 100% into getting the next appointment right when there is a lot more at stake.

Be fair, Aldridge spent the last 18 months asset stripping Bolton with that c*nt Anderson. Also, There is nothng ever to show the new scout is at Newcastle. Strudwick stayed, the Steves went, but they are attached in Bruces rectum, so, why assume the scout left?

Because they're natural born moaners.

Because we've recruited no-one since, player nor manager. Pretty fookin' obvious. 2 weeks to go DC...

Football is our business, appointing Bruce was a business decision.

Besides, not really my point, I was merely helping the OPs debate by pointing out that there is an argument that this could be an unwanted distraction from recruitment. Particularly if the merits of even winning a likely protracted court case are an insignificant amount of money and a moral victory. If its likely to be worth it then great, crack on.

Buying the players to get us to the playoffs was a business decision.
