Had they managed a Man U or Chelsea I am sure their win rates would be higher.

I think they did well with the clubs they were at and the players/budgets at their disposal.

Newcastle will have a lot better squad than Hull have ever had.

Spose only time will tell.

Yes it will be interesting to see how he does. Personally I understand why he went for the job, it was his handling of it which was poor.

Although I'd agree Newcastle's squad is better, so is their competition. A Champions League winning manager has struggled to keep them above the drop in the last couple of years.

I dont think rafa is as good as the geordies make out.

Nor is bruce as bad as they say.

The only comparitive jobs theyve had is rafa at newcastle an stevethenőb at sunderland and if u look they are similar finishes.. about 10th to 13th from memory.

Rafa from the champ is 1 from 1 but with that squad and all that money bruce would have got them up that year easy without the brighton keeper having to drop one in his net last min to hand them the title in a poor league when we was crap an we finished fourth.

Would rafa have got the 4 promotions bruce did? Probably not. But then bruce probably wouldnt win the champos league if he were at man u.

Diff type of managers. But at a club like newcastle, much of a muchness i reckon.

Jesus wept.  He made a competent premier league footballer out of Jamal Lascelles, and made Ayoze Perez look like a top 10 striker with ZERO midfield.  This was a paperthin squad that Rafa worked miracles to keep them solid midtable.  And now they're significantly worse (Rondon was the MVP) and Steve Bruce is the answer.  High comedy.

I havent said rafa didnt do a good job at the toon, anyone who keeps them up under ashley has done great, i expect bruce will do the same.

But they Wasnt solid mid table at all. Last 2 seasons theyve been crap in bottom 5 or 6 till good runs catapulted them up there later in season.

Matteo won champos league with chelsea but was an absolute car crash at villa and bruce had to sort out his mess..

Point being, winning champos league or not is irrelevant when ur at a club like villa or toon, its what can you do at that level. And im saying the gap is nowhere near as big as the mostly dim geordies think it is.

Im right, whether or not you understand it is totally irrelevant.
