2nd tier opponents next  - finished 6th last season so no mugs.

Let's see what our 'first 11' can manage before we all start having nervous breakdowns.

They looked a bit knackered to me tonight - very little energy.

Perhaps the travel just caught up with them?

TBF Jos said he didn't like taking teams abroad because of the time lost through travel. Must say going to Portugal and Germany does seem a bit OTT.

People have way too much time on their hands . Who cares if we win ten nil or lose ten nil in games like that. They mean nothing .

that was awful watched 2nd half we were playing a very low standard team like out national league north ,none of the players did anything to show that they deserve the shirt for the reading game , it be nearly a completely different team when we play sunday . there was no intensity out there ,maybe our players were tired after double training sessions and playing tues night and then traveling over there .

Good Lord Almighty.

well they certainly looked tired and unmotivated ,the result wasn't that important ,if the players have been overworked this past 3-4 days then that's the fault of the management . if I was playing today then id be looking to impress none did anything .the team what will start on sunday will be the 11 what kicks off at reading .

I wouldn’t necessarily agree that getting pumped 10-0 would be classed as a good run out, I do agree that friendly results overall are meaningless - but you won’t have much of the ball if you get destroyed...

If these games mean nothing, why play them? I would have hoped each game was useful both in terms of fitness and implementing tactics. Tonight was uninspiring on both counts.

I always prefer to lose a game or two in Pre-Season than win the lot. I’ve seen us have very good pre-seasons then struggle when the real stuff starts.

There’s people about tonight who genuinely think a pre season game should affect Bullens chances of getting job

You don't like to think it but if suspect today's game was like the elimination line up of Britons got talent. If you started tonight you take a look at the players around you and you think poo I'm on the 2nd team here I'm not likely to be starting.

Suppose it kind of shows bullen who's up for the fight. I know João and big Dave wasn't the last time it happened.

Fitness yes , and to get new things . Overall they mean nothing . Some of our best recent seasons have come off shocking pre seasons and some of the worst off cracking pre seasons (03/04 is an example that springs to mind ) . Peop really do get het up over nothing . We stuffed 3 other teams and lost tonight .  It really melt down territory is it

Why travel and get tired, sleep on different beds, pack,  unpack, etc.

Why not stop at home, eat well, train, chill  and have teams come to Hillsborough every three or four days.

Why not?

Trouble beforehand resulted in an heavy police presence, been held back and then a police escort back to the train station.

500/600 fans travelled for this game and only 2 players acknowledged the fans efforts...pretty poor!! The Lübeck players made more of an effort than our own players.

Shame that, especially when you see the pigs manager getting the fans right in amongst the players and thanking them.
