Jim
Given what I've read in this thread whoever gets the job is going to have a tough task to win over the fan base never mind have us challenging?

Pulis, Coleman, even Rowett, will probably do OKish, but they won’t last a season here. We need to find a better fit for the club, now, and going forward

None of them, even ones that I might be OK with, Hughton, GVB, seem quite the right fit Given that the previous manager did seem like the right man at the right time it will be a bit like that. However, I do think that we need someone in and the list of freebie managers is much better than it was when Carlos left and also Jos. Most of these things are a gamble anyway. I thought Gray would be awful but he turned out decent.

Costello 77
Coleman isn't mentally tough enough for us... just an opinion.. I don't think he'd cope.
vulva
Just on Bullen, he could have had this job had he gone somewhere else and done well. Sheffield is surrounded by smaller local clubs where he could have made a name for himself, proven his coaching abilities and come back for the big job. As an example, when you compare him to Coleman (not that I particularly want him) this bloke has played at the highest level for club and country and even managed his country. When trying to protect your £100m investment, when comparing CVs, and many others, it’s not even a contest.
Hitcat
If we were going to appoint anyone with any merit, they'd be in by now. Which means.... We're trying to decide which out of the others is the best of a utterly, utterly shìt bunch. A season of total mediocrity beckons I'm afraid. Buckle up for a tedious ride on the world's slowest rollercoaster.

In my opinion nothing but I’m looking at what Chansiri might be thinking, premier league and championship experience with a promotion ? (Don’t quote me I can’t be bothered to google). Was at Boro recently so will be aware of him Coleman’s been out the game ages, Rowett and Monk have less experience, he may see Pulis best of a bad bunch

I do to a point but if you're limiting yourself to out of work managers which I believe we are then you can't do anything but look at the managers that are being mentioned. Bottom line these managers are out of work for a reason so we are not going to appoint a world beater unless we take a chance on someone like Derby did with Lampard. Personally I think DC will look for a promotion specialist and that points towards someone like Pulis who would have us thereabouts. Right appointment? Not sure but if his hearts in it there's not many better.
Animis
I'm at a point where I don't much care anymore - someone to steer this team in the general direction which we've been going over the last 6 months will do me.

Carbone
Rowett and Monk.. they’ve achieved nothing in the game and have been completely overhyped because they’re English, I’d be very disappointed if they ended up managing us. Likewise Coleman; Wales won a couple of games and he was the dog’s rounduns but what else has he done? Very underwhelmed, I’d have Pulis over the above. Think tank
Coleman should be at the bottom of the list, just ahead of Zola and Bullen. Dreadful manager and that Sunderland documentary was very revealing. I’d be seriously gutted if it was him!
